You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

sarameg, I just called my local Honda dealership, and talked to someone in the parts department (I have some scratches on my own car that could use attention before they rust). He asked for a VIN number so he could match the color. You might want to have that handy and call the dealership before heading over.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Seeing out of my right eye doesn't look similar enough to seeing out of my left eye. I've tried multiple ways to tape it shut, but they're all bothersome.

I could work from home with this nightmare (at least it's dark here), but they don't want us to do that, so I will take a sick day instead.

Is it worth urgent care? Either it's leaking tears or the tear duct gets bunged up and it hurts even more until I unbung it, but it's not red or visibly irritated. I feel the irritation, especially if it's open, but you can't see it.

Because books.

Maybe try rinsing it first? Or taking some sinus stuff?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That sounds like you'd want to see a specialist, no? I wonder if you can get a quick turn-around appointment at an ENT? (I realize the answer is probably no, unfortunately.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'd go to an ophthalmologist if it were my eye. They can do wonders with referrals, sometimes, and might be able to do something about it right there.

So sad, the Glasgow School of Art, designed by Charles Rennie MacKintosh, has been destroyed by fire. [link] [link]

Here's a 360 view of the gorgeous library: [link]

Oh man, that is terrible.

Also, I forgot that the E in ENT is ears - -t is right, of course it's an ophthalmologist you'd want.

Because books.

The fire at GSA is awful. All those students had just handed in their final projects, too, sometimes three and four years' worth of work.

Not clicking on that link just now.

I am looking forward to leaving the office two hours early, but trying to fit in all the work that must get done today before then is stressing me out. And I'm having one of those days when hearing everyone's conversations around me is really irritating and distracting. Usually it doesn't bother me, but today it sure does.

Possibly related: maybe 5 cups of coffee is too much. And yet, I think I will still have a cup of tea in a little bit...
