Was he joking..I hope? If not, that had better be reported pronto.
Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It was not a serious threat, good god no, but it was shocking coming from someone who is usually so kind and diplomatic. In finally in the shoes of my previous previous boss and butting heads.
As for the "resist" part, it was not to resist his edicts about work. To ask how high when he says jump. There is no room for conversation or differing viewpoints. He's micromanaging certain aspects of my job, bringing outside contractors who aren't able to do the job contracted of them, so I took initiative to complete the task. Since he didn't communicate to me that other things were in place to handle that, I mucked up relations with the contractors.
It's all completely fucked up, this "help" he gas finagled for me that is wasting four peoples time, and his wheeling and dealing has quadrupled the perils of playing telephone.
I just can't believe he expressed his displeasure that way to me. He's been making me feel like chopped liver lately, and I know it's not a literal threat, and may have been passive aggressively joking about his displeasure with me, but , man, that shit burns.
That context doesn't make me feel much better about it.
It's not right, and it's not appropriate. Which applies to JZ and Juliebird.
I am still steamed my boss thought I would change my mind on having my disability accommodated because new management doesn't like working from home. For a start, maybe they don't understand how much time can be wasted in the office, or how on top of email, etc, I am all day at home (I daren't let it slide like in the office). I would like to think, accommodation aside, on a case by case basis my biggest problem is that my boss refuses to meet with me unless she can see my face, even if she doesn't want to show me anything.
The work gets done, I'm responsive, and my doctor said so.
JZ, you know I'm a totally mild-mannered person, but I can get a look on my face that is really excellent at letting people know they'd just...better not.(Surprises the fuck out of people, too. They think I'm a pushover, until they see that...and mostly, they don't forget it either...it's like "Remember when you were *so mad* that time?"(although I don't have to be angry, just Over It...probably I've been angry and come around the other side.) I wish I could have taken the heat. Those People love me...the see me as living reinforcement of their argument, which I hate, but it would have totally drawn fire off you.
That really is enough, as far as my spotty knowledge of workplace-ADA rules goes, ita.
It was a Day. I have a colleague who I shall refer to as TINO who was unbeliably obnoxious, unprofessional, and entitled today to the point that I had to get a supervisor involved. And since TINO is a behind the scenes IT type person, he can make my life really difficult next year. But I couldn't let it go given how inappropriate it was and how unwilling he was to meet face to face to resolve it.
Damn it, TINO!
Also I just got home and discovered that the gas company shut our line down because they are fumigating the back house...which has a separate gas line. They shut them both down, apparently. I don't think I can blame TINO, but I'm going to anyway. Fucking Tino.

Through me not paying attention and a shoddy public transportation system I left work at 6:30, and I am not going to get home until 9:45. Currently I am on the wrong bus and I am going to have wait for it to get to the end of the line, take a 20 minute break and then go back to the transfer station.
