Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry you had to deal with that crap, JZ.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Pissed my boss off due to numerous miscommunications, had a meeting that he concluded with "don't resist me. Or I'll punch you in the face."

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Yeah, if my boss said that to me, I'd be reporting that shit SO FAST.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I'm sort of stuck on the threat of physical harm.

Our wings are not tired.

I tell my summer employees that if they are texting or messing with their phones I am going to smack them, but they are college kids DH coached so they don't believe me at all. I do scowl at them from time to time and they laugh and buckle down to work.

eta: I don't quite manage to put fear into young athletes a foot or more taller than me. But they do listen.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Was he joking..I hope? If not, that had better be reported pronto.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

It was not a serious threat, good god no, but it was shocking coming from someone who is usually so kind and diplomatic. In finally in the shoes of my previous previous boss and butting heads.

As for the "resist" part, it was not to resist his edicts about work. To ask how high when he says jump. There is no room for conversation or differing viewpoints. He's micromanaging certain aspects of my job, bringing outside contractors who aren't able to do the job contracted of them, so I took initiative to complete the task. Since he didn't communicate to me that other things were in place to handle that, I mucked up relations with the contractors.

It's all completely fucked up, this "help" he gas finagled for me that is wasting four peoples time, and his wheeling and dealing has quadrupled the perils of playing telephone.

I just can't believe he expressed his displeasure that way to me. He's been making me feel like chopped liver lately, and I know it's not a literal threat, and may have been passive aggressively joking about his displeasure with me, but , man, that shit burns.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That context doesn't make me feel much better about it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's not right, and it's not appropriate. Which applies to JZ and Juliebird.

I am still steamed my boss thought I would change my mind on having my disability accommodated because new management doesn't like working from home. For a start, maybe they don't understand how much time can be wasted in the office, or how on top of email, etc, I am all day at home (I daren't let it slide like in the office). I would like to think, accommodation aside, on a case by case basis my biggest problem is that my boss refuses to meet with me unless she can see my face, even if she doesn't want to show me anything.

The work gets done, I'm responsive, and my doctor said so.
