You'll get your endurance back up.
So I might've done an environmental bad and killed a carpenter bee. But when I hear something CHEWING at my shoulder and see a pile of sawdust below my neighbor's deck railing and she's gone for several weeks, rationality goes out the door and I spray down the wood with citrus cleaner (cause I don't have anything else and citrus oil based stuff often makes things Go Away) and mashed a screwdriver into the hole.
And then I googled.
Yes, bees good. Bees boring half inch diameter holes for nests into decks, not so good.
She's got at least 3. They probably came to enjoy the new rosebushes.
sarameg, did you ever get to Salem College when you were in NC? Historic site, dating back to the 1700s. They were constantly fighting the drilling and munching of carpenter bees. Little piles of sawdust between each spindle on the historic balcony floor beneath the historic rail...
I don't feel quite as much need to defend carpenter bees as honey bees.
I am baking a pie. I have no good explanation as to why, except that I had all the ingredients (well, I substituted coconut milk for milk, but it's a coconut pie, that just seems better anyway) and I am trying to use up eggs. I was looking for a recipe for something I could have lying around for quick dinners next week but somehow ended up with coconut pie.
Mm, coconut pie with coconut milk sounds amazing. ...if I didn't know better I'd say I was hormonal right now. I also just went to the store and bought cookies, chips, baklava, and gelato.
I used a tip I read about, which was to keep the highest square in a corner.
Must remember this, and Jesse's tip. Hmmm.
Coconut pie sounds awesome. But everything feels awesome right now because we just watched The Lego Movie.
I am baking a pie. I have no good explanation as to why,
Because pie.
I am conflicted about carpenter bees. They're excellent pollinators, but they like the wood in my carport.
I made two quiches. I'm not even going to be modest; they are fucking delicious.
Because pie.
That does make a lot of sense.
Now I can confirm: mmm, pie.
Yeah, Jesse, I don't blame them for splitting the difference. Still, kind of exciting.
Back from f2f-ing, which was fun! We walked so much I set a new daily record on my fitness app--6.4 miles. Most of that was probably in the Art Institute.
My knees and legs are sore, but ibuprofen is starting to kick in so I'm good.
