It's like, in the middle of all this, I'm paranoid that you'll think I don't like poetry.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I used a tip I read about, which was to keep the highest square in a corner.

I have no idea what that means. Congratulations?

Peanut butter and bacon wrap for dinner. I regret nothing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Thanks for the tip in re O--I wasn't sure if it would really happen because it was a struggle getting a photo that would fit right and etc. I still haven't seen it

There's no picture, just the quote. But still!

I used a tip I read about, which was to keep the highest square in a corner.

Yeah, the related tip I read was to only move the squares in three directions -- it helps.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Cultural anthropologist?

Sensory anthropologist. And they accuse IT people of making shit up.

Fast and Furious 6 is on now. I'm pissed I missed the Carano/Rodriguez fight, but it's remarkably compelling.

I've never heard of a sensory anthropologist. Strange.

I just ate a burger, but I'm still kinda hungry. Hmm....I DO have a couple friends coming over, so I COULD go buy some tonic water in case they want some...and get some ice cream while I'm there...hmmm. (should've got the frybread when I got the burger!)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Wow, I am so exhausted. This does not bode well for this summer.

I'm so tired that I ordered from the restaurant but forgot about it and was lying here feeling hungry. I ordered, like, five minutes ago. I'm glad I decided not to drive the extra two hours. Plus it looked pretty thundery out there. It had just started big fat drops when I walked the dog before coming in.

You'll get your endurance back up.

So I might've done an environmental bad and killed a carpenter bee. But when I hear something CHEWING at my shoulder and see a pile of sawdust below my neighbor's deck railing and she's gone for several weeks, rationality goes out the door and I spray down the wood with citrus cleaner (cause I don't have anything else and citrus oil based stuff often makes things Go Away) and mashed a screwdriver into the hole.

And then I googled.

Yes, bees good. Bees boring half inch diameter holes for nests into decks, not so good.

She's got at least 3. They probably came to enjoy the new rosebushes.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

sarameg, did you ever get to Salem College when you were in NC? Historic site, dating back to the 1700s. They were constantly fighting the drilling and munching of carpenter bees. Little piles of sawdust between each spindle on the historic balcony floor beneath the historic rail...

I don't feel quite as much need to defend carpenter bees as honey bees.

I am baking a pie. I have no good explanation as to why, except that I had all the ingredients (well, I substituted coconut milk for milk, but it's a coconut pie, that just seems better anyway) and I am trying to use up eggs. I was looking for a recipe for something I could have lying around for quick dinners next week but somehow ended up with coconut pie.

Mm, coconut pie with coconut milk sounds amazing. ...if I didn't know better I'd say I was hormonal right now. I also just went to the store and bought cookies, chips, baklava, and gelato.
