Doves are survivors, they are tougher than you think.
Man, I missed Bike to Work Day. I was totally gonna do it this year, too, if I had known when it was.

Plants delivered and some are going to boss man. Coworker queried why there were geraniums next to his car. This devolved into her being sincerely pissed at me that I hadn't asked her if she wanted to buy plants wholesale. JFC, it wasn't like I was taking orders from the staff for their personal needs! I barely got the order for work in amidst all the other shit I'm dealing with.
And I'm really pissed at the ED and his "helping me" as it continues to fuck shit up and he just refuses to hear me. Contractor supposed to design several garden areas. I show contractor the areas and he admits to me that he sucks at garden design and would prefer to defer to my choices. So now am I not only scrapping the design I had already done thanks to the ED meddling, but I'm picking out new plants for a garden I was supposed to be relieved of designing, which is pissing off the ED. Aal this in the name of helping me and he refuses to see that this is creating extra work for me.
Murder. Death and fire and paper cuts. I wish these things upon him.
It's tomorrow, here. Was it today there? Note, I do not own a bike, and am mostly worried there will be a lot of slow bus-bike commuters interfering with my routine.
It was last week here, for some reason. I did not notice a lot of bike commuters, but there just aren't a lot of other people on my route at my commute time.
Upon reflection, even if I had known it was B2W day I probably would have driven, as I needed to cross the straits that evening. So not such a big loss. I'll just have to pick a day on my own to try biking to work.
Oh, that explains why DH made a point of wearing his Bike 2 Work shirt today.
At the store today, the woman ahead of me in line was buying a wedding present for a girlfriend getting married in June. The present: meat tenderizer and a nutcracker.
That sounds more like a bachelorette party.
My occasional lawn guys have stopped by to chop down my salsify and assorted weeds (some which are grasses, but it's not like I planted any of it or want a lawn as such). I'm surprised they are voluntarily working in this heat, but I guess it is cooler than yesterday.
And I managed to lose my phone in my car while moving it out of the driveway so it wouldn't be in the way of the lawn mower. I am pretty talented. I have found it again, but it took some doing.
I was pretty happy when I woke up and remembered that I liked my haircut. It's still pretty severe, but severe in a way I'm comfortable with.
So yeah, so I'm leaving on, like, Saturday. In my head I wasn't leaving until a week and a half from Saturday, which was the original plan before the SO got me comped in to see my favorite musician. Which is awesome. But I am so not getting done by tomorrow what I was going to have done by two weeks out.
I posted this on fb, but think people here would like it too: I procrastinated by reading this article about procrastination: [link] and then waited two days with this part II [link] open in a background tab, preferring to feel guilty rather than read an article (a cartoon, really) that might provide me with solutions.
So today has been an exercise in: okay, what actually needs to get done before you physically leave the house, and what do you just wish that you'd gotten done already but can totally do with all the mobile office stuff you're hauling this summer. And then there's: what is genuinely important to do that you have to do before you leave the house. Like, I need to prioritize plugging the broken rain barrel outlet over installing attic panels. It will be nice if I can get the latter done and get a lot of crap out of my office space. But it will be a disaster if rain comes pouring out of my gutter halfway up my wall all during monsoon.
So I should probably leave now before ACE closes. Goodbye, procrastination target peoples!
