Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Cuteness is a plus.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

A large branch fell in my back yard last night, and my neighbors, bless them, are cutting it up. I am terrible at getting help from anyone and feel guilty. My part is to keep Mr Peabody inside out of their way. He is having a fit.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yay for good neighbors, Ginger. Boo for errant tree branches!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yay neighbors! Especially neighbors with chainsaws who like to use them in socially appropriate ways!

If anybody has a chainsaw handy, feel welcome to come over any time!

I didn't look for new houses for sale on the Sibcy-Cline website until 3:30 today, which is sort of a record. And then of course found out that house I posted yesterday has sold already. Not that it made sense financially, but damn it was nice.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Cool it, Mr. P, those people are *helping*. I promise the squirrels will come back.

Good work, flea, and you too, Connie.

A Vortex vortex would indeed be awesome.

Oh Lee, so sorry about that bird experience. That's a hard one to shake off. I hope things are better today.

Pictures of adorable people are adorable! Thanks, tommy.

Liese, good for you! Good hair, plus bra that fits--thats two wins at once!

This is the first season H has had allergic reactions beyond itchy eyes and nasal congestion. He doesn't like it one bit, poor lamb. But at least he's not side-eyeing me as a malingerer now.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Liese, awesome for asking and getting what you wanted!

None of my devices for telling me how much exercise I am getting seem to be much use in the pool. And I'm not even sure how long the pool is, so I don't know what my 8 (very slow with pauses to rest at each end) lengths ones to in yards or meters. I called the front desk earlier to ask and she said it was "Olympic-sized, I think 25...meters?" So I don't have enormous confidence in that.

-t, you can often google this info. I have a Speedo Pace club app that tells me the lengths of most pools. Also, you can check here: [link] and search by facility.

Thanks, Kat. Googling wasn't getting me anywhere, but I was mostly looking on the gym's website (I still can't believe it just doesn't say somewhere, but it doesn't seem to). I will broaden my search and see if that works. Your link doesn't find my city, although it does find two of the three In-Shapes in the neighboring city. If I knew they were all the same size I would be all set, but I do not know that...it's In-Shape in Suisun City on Sunset Ave if your app has it

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We just had some heavy rain. Again.

I did not need to hear a monologue from my dad about all the things he did for my brother and me when we were kids. And yet, that's what I got. (According to my folks my brother complains a lot about what he wasn't allowed to do as a kid. I have no idea if that's true, but if it is, my brother needs to get over it. If it's not, I have no answers. Either way, leave me out of it.)

brillig

They're having the official ribbon cutting for the new building. The governor is downstairs, woo.

But they just released doves, and I feel sorry for them, unless they're really homing pigeons and know where to go so they're not just thrown out into an area they don't know anything about.
