Dog bed success! Darby still needs to be pulled inside the house, but no longer bolts for the door. And she didn't even get up when the alarm click my dad left a few feet away went off at 1:45 AM. Still happier in the yard.

What Jesse said.
So I got a decent amount amount of sleep last night, and I woke up in a MUCH better mood. The call to Mom this morning was quick and painless; she didn’t feel like picking a fight this morning. Yay.
Yay, Tom!
Glad to hear that, Tom!
I'm counting as success that I have a load of laundry in and am showered and dressed and it isn't even noon yet (I was a bit wired last night, whodathunk.)
I even put the deck set out on the deck. Of course, now it is gonna get all pollinated but whatever.
Also, I think I drank too much coffee this morning.
OK, got some errands to run.
Yay Tom. My mother rebuffed my brother when he tried to make plans with her because "that's what a mother does, she puts her kids' needs first". This was, of course, a swipe at the SIL, implying that my mother was the bigger person for not making him choose between them as to how to celebrate for Mother's Day.
When he texted me that, I responded. "Where does she stand on the need not to deal with her crazy".
Excellent, Tom!
I need to get a load of laundry in and clean the bathroom. I would love to dig up the rest of the trees, but I don't really have anywhere to put more yard waste. Ah well!
Yay Tom!
Also yay Franny! for waking up and making the coffee this morning in honor of mother's day, and making me a caramel mocha.
I know mother's day can be a fraught holiday, but I hope for everyone here it is a warm and loving one, whether you are a mom or have a mom or have lost a mom.
For mother's day, I helped my mom with a craft project that was causing her much confusion. We also had coffee.
She threatened to shoot me if I tried to take her out to brunch or do anything else that would involve having to deal with large numbers of people.
Glad to hear it, Tom!
Argh, Vortex.
Yay, Franny!
I successfully evaded 3 zombie mobs - luckily they didn't attack while Walter insisted on rolling in the grass. They (not zombies, just the generic "they") were setting up for the Mother's Day Artisan Fair in the plaza - it looks like it will be nice but not anything I absolutely have to not miss. Which is good, because I need to spend some quality time doing nothing and then see how much laundry and dishes I can clean...
