Zoe: Planet's coming up a mite fast. Wash: That's just cause, I'm going down too quick. Likely crash and kill us all. Mal: Well, that happens, let me know.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Got an email from a Boy Scout looking to do his Eagle Scout project at my work. Says he's ready to start! Yay! I have no fucking paperwork from you, despite whatever conversations old boss lady had with you that one Saturday you volunteered.

I've had bad experiences with Boy Scouts. I had to walk away from the desk and come back after a soothing coffee so that I didn't reply to him with baggage (I was so tempted to type: "and when I say 'email to set up an appointment' I don't mean 'email on a Sunday night to say that you are coming Monday at 8am' and show up anyway without confirmation from me, because I am not in on Monday's and if I was, I would only just be reading your email! (that is, if I wasn't having a coffee clutch with the office admin in the kitchen)'".

Yeah, baggage. But I know the BSoA have a long bureaucratic approval process, coupled with the project site also going through iterations of project approval before the red tape process even begins. So to have this kid chomping at the bit to start when I only heard once in passing that he wanted to do his project here only a month or so ago, it pings alarms. Also, there is nothing on file, no project plan with everyone's required signatures.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

IO-my-brain-is-weird-N: I don't know how many times I have scrolled past the title The Bad Sleep Well on my DVR (finally watching it today, these three hour movies are hard to fit in) and never guessed that "well" was an adverb and not a noun. And of course sleep is a verb not a noun. It makes a lot more sense that way.

In my defense, some sort of well that you draw sleep out of that has somehow gone bad does sound like an interesting basis for a movie, doesn't it? I imagine it would be located not far from a treacle mine.

And this is me after coffee. FTR.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ha! I was thinking a well where people can't sleep. Which, I bet you wouldn't sleep that well in a mine!

Oh, that's also good! It could be an oasis, so you want to be near it for the water, but if you are you sleep badly. A conundrum.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yeah, up there where I put "mine," I meant "well." Obviously.

John Oliver with Regis Philbin is my new favorite thing. Stay tuned for when I watch Thursday's episode.

Oh wait, I'm finally watching the Vicco, KY thing from Colbert. New favorite thing!

Wells, mines - probably neither is great for sleeping what with Lassie trying to rescue Timmy and dwarves working all the time and of course the balrogs.

Both of those favorite things were great! I watched Thursday's shows this morning and I predict you will be rather enamored of them as well.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Home from a long day working the ARP information table at a local city fair. The number of people who walk up said something about hiking a lot and that they haven't gotten lost yet and then plunking money in our donation jar was kinda amazing. We probably got $200+ in donations.

I have whiskey, some dinner, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall on tv. Wheeeee.
