Woo! Go Mac!
I gave up coffee for a month, and I've just started back drinking decaf last week. Unfortunately, I busted the handle on my press pot so I'm back to my Mr. Coffee. Which has the advantage of having coffee ready for me when I wake up, but now that I'm drinking decaf that's less of an issue.
Great job, Mac!
“Katie has given her all to this company for over 18 years,” Apple spokesman Steve Dowling said in a statement. “She has wanted to spend time with her children for some time now. We are really going to miss her.”
Isn't "They want to spend more time with their family" publicist code for "they've been pushed out with a soft landing."
In this case I'm a little concerned she's planning to eat those children.
If a relatively distant family member references John Gault (sic) in a reply to a FB post about raising the minimum wage, it's totally acceptable for me to beat the shit out of him, right? Metaphorically speaking.
10000%.
I am so over today. I stayed up way too late reading a good book (why am I only discovering Sarah Tolerance this week?) and got up at 5:15 when somebody (ahem) wet the bed. I am trying to plan a (mandatory per the terms of the grant) end-of-year celebration for the reading program I (volunteer) coordinate at school, and nobody cares about this including me, and I hate planning events, and none of the teachers who actually implement the program have been helpful.
So, relatedly, does this sound like a terrible assembly for K-3? It's a pajama day at school. The principal gives some kind of "reading yay" introduction. I (assuming I cannot rope anyone else into this) read a "bedtime story" to the assembled children. We then pass out certificates and books to keep (these are both causing me 6 kinds of headaches). Then we either have a "read-in" as kids look at their new books, or dismiss. What story should I read? I was thinking Rikki Tikki Tavi, which I read recently and I think is mostly okay on the imperalism front, but might be too scary for K, especially if they are scared of snakes? Other suggestions?
Huh. I drink my coffee black and I've been doing it "diner-style" for years. And putting a French press in the fridge overnight is a hell of a lot less work than the pour-over-ice Japanese method that article is promoting.
Congratulations, Mac.
My mouth still hurts. I keep telling myself it is just sore from the work done yesterday but I'm scared there is something they missed and I'll need more work (other than finishing off the crown).
KCD is apparently doing well and might get discharged tomorrow. He is back to being his grumpy self, so that is a "good" sign. The docs put him on a nicotine patch while he is an inpatient. Hopefully that will be the first step toward quitting for him.
Because Sarah tolerance was out of print, and then a new one came out and ebooks and stuff?
Is "pour over" the same as "drip"? The instructions are irritatingly in slideshow form.
