The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I am at home and not wearing shoes, but these are the new Fluevogs I was wearing on Wednesday: [link]

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My work software is down. No idea what's wrong or when it will be fixed. I wish this were an uncommon occurrence. So I could (a) take a nap, (b) clean something, (c) screw around on the Internet some more, or (d) all of the above, sign off work and consider the weekend begun.

Why can't I spell "occurrence" correctly the first time, ever?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm wearing the same shoes I wear (just about) every day- black Easy Spirit walking shoes. (I'm not into shoes much and I tend to go for comfort over style)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Fedex delivered the Adirondack chair. The delivery guy looked at my crutches and asked "Do you need a bit of help with that?"

Bit of v. totally entirely all you? Mmmm....

Picked up my disabled placard, which means I drove. It's not fun, but it's doable. Could be worse.

Argh, just lost most of this post. Eh, it wasn't that great.

Jesse, the sandals are the best (online reviews support my stance -- I felt so validated!) Mostly sold out on line, but worth checking out and/or going to an actual Payless to check the clearance racks -- sandals are mostly gone by now, but you never know. I think they're around $9.99 at this point.

Man the weather has been so fabulous. Feels like the exact opposite of last summer.

Sorry to hear about your ankle, ita. I actually haven't caught up reading to the point where I know what happened, but I do hope it's getting better fast.

information libertarian

Set of quadruplets: Kathryn, Elliott, Thompson, and Emerson. All except Elliott are girls. *Thompson*?? That's a new one on me.

Also I saw official documents belonging to a 30-ish woman named Jhonee Carson at work the other week.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm wearing purple Converse.

We got Matilda's class assignment for this year. She got totally shut out from her besties! Norah, Isabella and Sena are all in other classes. And even her second tier of friends is fairly thin so she's not with Ellie, Iris, Sophie or Vivian either.

She does have Reece, Lucy, Angelika and Rayna in her class, but within the context of "she'll be fine, she's in a good school, with good teachers and knows everybody and the school" - pretty much the least desirable assignment for her.

I'm pretty sure she's going to cry when she finds out she's not with her friends. I would have been okay with her not being in the same class without her three closest friends if more of her other friends would be there to allow those friendships to grow. But she already knows all the other kids in her class and I know she's not that into them, so opportunities for new/deeper friendships there are slim.

From a parental point of view, I totally got my favorite parents in this group. But a lot of them are parents of boys who barely impinge on her emotional life at this point. (For those following along at home, Isaiah the boy who made the box for her and took her to Pixar is not going to be in her class either. He'll be bummed.)
