Sorry to hear about your ankle, ita. I actually haven't caught up reading to the point where I know what happened, but I do hope it's getting better fast.

Set of quadruplets: Kathryn, Elliott, Thompson, and Emerson. All except Elliott are girls. *Thompson*?? That's a new one on me.

Also I saw official documents belonging to a 30-ish woman named Jhonee Carson at work the other week.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm wearing purple Converse.

We got Matilda's class assignment for this year. She got totally shut out from her besties! Norah, Isabella and Sena are all in other classes. And even her second tier of friends is fairly thin so she's not with Ellie, Iris, Sophie or Vivian either.

She does have Reece, Lucy, Angelika and Rayna in her class, but within the context of "she'll be fine, she's in a good school, with good teachers and knows everybody and the school" - pretty much the least desirable assignment for her.

I'm pretty sure she's going to cry when she finds out she's not with her friends. I would have been okay with her not being in the same class without her three closest friends if more of her other friends would be there to allow those friendships to grow. But she already knows all the other kids in her class and I know she's not that into them, so opportunities for new/deeper friendships there are slim.

From a parental point of view, I totally got my favorite parents in this group. But a lot of them are parents of boys who barely impinge on her emotional life at this point. (For those following along at home, Isaiah the boy who made the box for her and took her to Pixar is not going to be in her class either. He'll be bummed.)

Wait, so if they're mixed sex then they're all from different ova? Fertility treatments?

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

So, my apartment is over the garage. It's a walkup with a cute curving staircase up to a small private patio and my stoop. My mailbox is down by the garage door.

I found a hairband on my stoop, and my own hair is three inches long.

WTF, neighbors? I don't go hang out on your deck. Maybe if I hadn't weeded my stairs you would have stayed the hell out of my space.

I think I'm going to change my lock again, because there's still the time when I let them house sit for me and they never gave back my key, but claimed they had put it in my mailbox.

I don't know; friends of a friend. I assume so.

Casper weeps every other day about not being in class with her best friend. But I hope she has some better influences in her class this year, and makes friends with people I like more. Dillo's best friend changed schools, but he brought home a strange girl's address and phone number from camp this week, so I am overall positive on his social prospects right now.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Mother's maiden name for a girl is pretty common, isn't it? Not in my family with our generations of hard to pronounce names, but I hear it's a thing that is done.

Today's shoes: [link] - off my feet because I am home. I love that when I opened up fickr I immediately got a stream of shoe pictures.

Today's was our employee sample sale. They aren't kidding with the bargains - my big ticket item was a roasting pan for $7. I'll give y'all a heads up before the next one in case anyone wants me to look for anything for them, now that I have some idea how it all works.

Got some sauvignon blanc chilling in the fridge and soon to have Saints football on the TV. Good day.

Hairbands get shot up into the air more than they just fall out of a ponytail, in my experience.

Quadruplets? I can't even imagine. Thompson does seem a bit weird as a girl name--if you gave me that list I might've guessed Elliott as the girl first!

I read a birth announcement at a work site the other day--a family that had four daughters already had another birth...of triplets, two girls and a boy. Good lord!
