Hmm, I wonder in which ad I heard this song:
Gigantic by the Pixies? According to Wikipedia, a cover of it is being used in iPhone/iPod commercials.
Drusilla ,'Conversations with Dead People'

How did you get from Paul Walker to Cheers?
Through Paul Newman, oddly enough. I think it was the jawlines that then took us to Sam Malone.
Gigantic by the Pixies?
Sorry--that wasn't a real question, just a comment on the appropriateness of the choice (I had to wiki to find the song's provenance). Is there a site or a tumblr or something with "Are you sure that's what you want to imply with your song choice, admaker?" I'd love to read about more than just the handful I know about.
Aw, Sam Malone. I was a huge Cheers fan while it was on, but only through the Diane years.

Woody, Cliff, Lilith, and Frazier were enough to keep me watching after Diane left.
I can't work out why I have no memory of watching it with him, either. With any of them. It was such a great show, which feels underappreciated because it never comes up in conversation, but well written and an amazing cast. Consistent, too.
For some reason, I think I had a crush on Kirstie Alley/Rebecca. Not sure why, though.
One of my favorite moments, though, is early on when Coach sings the Albania song. So funny.
I sing the Albania song ALL THE TIME "You border on the Adriatic..."
Your land is mostly mountainous...
I still make a parking joke based on Cheers, whenever we park somewhere and then walk past an open parking spot that's closer. (Woody was lying in the street by the curb, saying "Don't move me! Don't move me!" Rebecca came out and said "Oh my god, Woody! What happened?" And he kept repeating "Don't move me!" until Sam drove up in his sports car, at which point he jumped up and said "Okay, back it in, Sammy!")
So when we walk past an empty spot, I often say "You lay down there and I'll go get the car!" It's pretty much only funny to me.
Unrelatedly, does anyone remember the name of the pen and paper task management system that Leise uses, that involves just writing everything down with check boxes-- I think the name has a focus in it, but I don't think it is omni focus.
