I've had basil that just took over the world, but lately I can't even keep it alive.

The farmer's market basil goes crazy, the Home Despot/Lowes herbs never make it for me.
I guess I should consult the market people next weekend. One of the many things I love about it. Though having the HokeyPokey stuck in my head for most of the day was annoying (one of the market musicians had an under-6 fan club dancing for him. HP was a big hit for all the littles in big sunglasses and I was waiting for neighbors to get coffee and the line was long. Many, many variations.)
Leaving the karate tournament today my Sensei handed me two small basil plants (no clue why but she had a flat of them she was giving away). I gave B one and she is going to pot mine for me with some mint and chives. Separately she is going to pot some lavender for me. Plants. To keep alive. Eeeeep. But I'm going to do my best cause nom!
The undefined thing is done and I think it is gonna stick. I hope. So happy but still can't explain.
Well I've had an eventful night. I was on my way to prom (chaperoning, way less fun than Buffista prom) and got rear-ended. No real injuries and my car is drivable, but I won't be going anywhere tomorrow since I have to take the car to the dealership to leave for Monday -- I also have already taken a lot of Advil and a Flexoril to ward off the stiff back and neck I can already feel coming on.
The car is going to need, ND estimates, about $5K of repairs. Sigh.
Oh man. Glad you aren't hurt! But won't the other guy's insurance cover it?
Whenever I've planted basil , it goes batshit tall and drips basil thingies everywhere. I want spready, leafy basil, not tall! I want to grab a few leaves here and there, not get a woody mini-tree.
I've never grown basil, only killed it, but that sounds like the plants needed pinching early on, two or three buds from the soil line, to promote lateral branching (bushiness).
Yes, the other guy's insurance will cover -- it's more just the number of days I suspect I will be without my car. Poor car.
Yikes, Pix! Glad it's not worse.
it's more Wild Wild West. In my head I'm hearing Will Smith singing that, by the way
Yes! That is perfect.
Slept 10 hours, and feeling good! I should still go to bed early-ish tonight as well.
I'm counting a victory over 7 hrs.
Time to get moving.
Timelies all!
Sorry about your car, Pix.
