"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I like to think of that picture as steampunk, because it is so not any actual period.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

The latter, meara. But even though I have to start over again, I'm pretty sure I won't have to do c25k again-- so it's definitely something that will ultimately "stick."

Because books.

I can't go into Boxed Set until I watch the S2 episodes, but Orphan Black is blowing my mind. I still can't over the guy with the tail . And Tatiana Maslany is amazing. Only two more S1 eps left!

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Because that's how you roll in your 30s--get together for a race, instead of go for drinks.

Today I got together with friends to drink chai, eat cookies, and watch a Bollywood movie.

Gotcha--that makes more sense. And goodness knows, Week 6 is farther than I've managed to get in the program ever before! We'll see how I do in my 5K tomorrow--first one since New Year's, first one since physical therapy and restarting C25K! I get a doughnut at the end, mmm.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Is that Colin in the brown suit? I wouldn't call it steampunk but it's more costumey western than period western.

No goats today (and no fresh chevre! Guy was super apologetic and my friend told me I was a horrid flirt for that early in the morning. I was just being silly!) but I planted a dianthus in the front, my porch hanging baskets (begonias, impatiens and superbells) and superbells in the wire cat planter out on the deck. I'm hitting the really good nursery tomorrow for more stonecrop and some flowers for the remaining buckets. Hope to do that, strip the iron railing and buy paint for the spindles (and juice and CO2.) And let my neighbor park a piece of furniture in my garage.

Was lying covered in cats, listening to my neighbor's windchimes as the winds gust through the open house. And scrubbing my eyes a bit, cause pollen. Cats just got up to chase a ghost (I can go pee now!) But it is nice.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

aurelia, I was going to ask the same thing!

Our raised beds are doing okay. The beets are sprouting as is the spinach. We also planted eggplants, carrots, tomatoes, and one sad basil

Why is basil so hard to grow?

sarameg - Apr 26, 2014 6:26:11 pm PDT #26201 of 30000

Whenever I've planted basil , it goes batshit tall and drips basil thingies everywhere. I want spready, leafy basil, not tall! I want to grab a few leaves here and there, not get a woody mini-tree.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I've had basil that just took over the world, but lately I can't even keep it alive.
