If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Eta, I don't remember the last time I felt so uncomfortable. I went into the office ONE DAY this month and managed to catch whatever has been felling people on my team. I thought I might get away with just the sore throat, but my skin hurts which is always the first sign of the real deal for me.

Then I spent three hours in the park weeding and seeding and cleaning and now I can't even tell what's causing what, I just know it ALL hurts.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does this picture look like steampunk or simply period?

Sue, I hope you and yours stay well clear of doctors for the next little while.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Kinda steampunky, I think. Possibly because of the corset and the tall hat.

Because books.

I spent the day with high school girls at Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in North Philly, and they were completely awesome. We talked about writing -- I did a workshop on voice -- and then there was a book signing, and the girls were just amazing. AMAZING. But I have to give all of you who are or were teachers so much credit -- I am exhausted. In a very good way, though.

I always say "let's get coffee" even though I drink tea. Weird.

brenda, hot bath and ibuprofen and possibly some medicinal alcohol?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Does this picture look like steampunk or simply period?

Steampunk.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Looks more period than steampunk to me, although definitely a theatrical sort of period. I don't see any cogwheels or aviator goggles.

I like Amy's plan for brenda. I might steal it for me, but it would require cleaning the bathtub.

Meanwhile, I have a loaf of "bread" in the oven and 6 little containers of mousse in the fridge, so I feel more like myself. And I got some cleaning done, not just cooking! More needs doing, of course, but it's a good start.

I always say "let's get coffee" even though I drink tea. Weird.

Isn't that a Seinfeld bit from back in the day? "Just bring me a hot beverage so I can talk to my friend"

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, what would make that picture steampunk?

Amy - Apr 26, 2014 3:13:14 pm PDT #26189 of 30000
Because books.

The leather corset is the only thing that sort of says steampunk to me.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Does this picture look like steampunk or simply period?

Period, with a love of corsets as outerwear.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I am from the coffee era, but I was meeting up with friends for coffee back in my 20s too. It could be that I'm a fuddy duddy?

Does this picture look like steampunk or simply period?

I knew which picture it would be before I clicked. As for steampunk or period, it's so off from any authentic period that my default would be steampunk, but really on second look it's more Wild Wild West. In my head I'm hearing Will Smith singing that, by the way.
