Sue, I hope everyone heals up well: that is way too much surgery.
Yay for training programs! One of my nieces is home for the weekend from college, and she and my oldest brother have signed up to do a 10-mile road race next month. So this morning I dragged her & her sister out into the woods for a 6-mile run in the hills. Happily, I was not smoked by either of them, although I did walk a bit more on the hills. It's the farthest I've run in about six years, so I'm really pleased about that.
We followed up the long run with yummy dim sum in Chinatown, and then I bought a new rug for my guest bedroom. Which answers the question of what the general color scheme will be.
Mmm, biltong. My DH and in-laws were big on trying to smuggle that stuff back home, because yum.
Mmm, dim sum, also.
Five miles? I'm impressed, -t! I have gotten stuck on W6D1 of couch to 5k, I've tried it about four times now and can't make it anywhere near through. I feel like my body is refusing to get any better, which is frustrating.
But tomorrow I'm running my first 5k since New Years. With a friend from college who is in town! Because that's how you roll in your 30s--get together for a race, instead of go for drinks. But we get a doughnut at the end
Wait until you're in your forties, meara. It's more like agree to have coffee somewhere mid afternoon.
I got stuck in the "go for drinks" era.
I went through C25K like 7 times before it stuck, meara. My body really hates running. Once you get to that 5k it gets a lot easier to add miles, though.
I got stuck in the "go for drinks" era.
Me too, man. Although generally home-by-ten type drinks.
