Our wings are not tired.

Oh Sue, triple doses of healing~ma.

waiting for the cable company to arrive for an appointment

My last round of Comcast frustration involved their phone calls that were inconsistent with the 'push number for' messages. Who the heck pushes 1 to cancel and 2 to confirm? Then the next time it would be something else. Random and seriously annoying. And if you don't answer your phone for some random toll free or local number (which I never do) then they just cancel because they didn't reach you. Grrr.

Ugh, flea. I hope to be with you on the house hunt soon. Mine is listed, for not long I hope. DH says he is happy to rent short term until we find the absolutely right thing, but I can't see that really happening. It would be much easier for us than you since we don't have the kiddies.

My adorable son Bobby has told us that when it comes time to house hunt he is cool with living with us if the perfect house has room, or he will move in with college buddies if the perfect house is smaller. Either way works for him. Awwww.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I am so tired of trying to find a house to buy. You know how with work projects, there's on time, on budget, and done well, and you can only pick two?

HA! I think I can only do one of those on any work project.

But yes with your point about houses. House hunting for us felt like slowly lowing our standards the entire time.

I am cold this morning. IT's a sit in the cold house and enjoy it before it's 90 degrees sort of day.

Free A/C! Enjoy it while it lasts.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Did yesterday's 5 miles this morning, whee! Went past/through three different parks and on three different trails, which pleases me greatly, AND I'm not unimaginably worn out. It's like following the training program is better for me than just randomly running whatever distance/time strikes my fancy on any given day.

Also, if I make this a regular route there are several places I can get breakfast (or, for that matter, lunch or dinner but today I am thinking about breakfasts) at about the halfway point, which is something to think about.

Aw, Bobby's sweet.

The status is NOT quo.

Go you! Training programs are the best. It's he only way I keep myself on track.

Kat, isn't it glorious today? Blue sky, green mountains, warm sun, but a chill in the air. Just lovely.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't know if I've said this here, but when I travel, I always love to try the local snack food flavors. Well! On South African Air, they had biltong flavored crackers! I didn't even know what that was -- that's next-level, compared to the "bolognese" flavored chips in Paris. (And I deny that they are actually bolognese flavored, as I think they were just tomato and herb, not meat....)

Sue, I hope everyone heals up well: that is way too much surgery.

Yay for training programs! One of my nieces is home for the weekend from college, and she and my oldest brother have signed up to do a 10-mile road race next month. So this morning I dragged her & her sister out into the woods for a 6-mile run in the hills. Happily, I was not smoked by either of them, although I did walk a bit more on the hills. It's the farthest I've run in about six years, so I'm really pleased about that.

We followed up the long run with yummy dim sum in Chinatown, and then I bought a new rug for my guest bedroom. Which answers the question of what the general color scheme will be.

Mmm, biltong. My DH and in-laws were big on trying to smuggle that stuff back home, because yum.

Mmm, dim sum, also.

Five miles? I'm impressed, -t! I have gotten stuck on W6D1 of couch to 5k, I've tried it about four times now and can't make it anywhere near through. I feel like my body is refusing to get any better, which is frustrating.

meara - Apr 26, 2014 1:25:23 pm PDT #26175 of 30000

But tomorrow I'm running my first 5k since New Years. With a friend from college who is in town! Because that's how you roll in your 30s--get together for a race, instead of go for drinks. But we get a doughnut at the end
