Here is how you know I don't live in Mayberry: today the police raided the candy store on the main street through town, because the candy store is, as we all know, a front for drug dealers. (You can buy candy there, but I have no idea if anyone does.)
That makes me sad! I like candy!
I'm pretty sure at least half of Mayberry was a front for moonshine back in the day.
Steph, or anyone else, do you have any ADHD stratagy book recommendations?
The best (BEST) ADD books I’ve found are written by Edward Hallowell, who is a doctor and has ADD himself, and John Ratey.
Driven to Distraction:

Seriously, it was a game-changer for me when I read it. I think it should be required reading for anyone with ADD or with a family member who has it.
For a more Q&A type of book (strategies etc.), he wrote
Answers to Distraction:

For Tep, if you or the DH are interested, there’s also
Married to Distraction:

under the delusion that with repetition, he'll have an idea when I'll be back.
Darby tried to go all Incredible Journey on my friend C this week. Because staying for two days with someone she knows and loves and who takes her to the beach every day was just too too traumatic. Horrors. @@

Driven to Distraction
This is one that Tim recommended, along with the 2 others you listed, and a fourth book, called Delivered From Distraction.
Yep, I forgot to add Delivered from Distraction. They are fantastic books. I think to help CJ, you might want to start with the Answers book since it’s all about the strategies. I recommend any and all of them, though, seriously.
It is so comforting to watch the Buffistas helping each other out. Font of wisdom here.
I always say goodbye to the dog, and goodnight if she is awake, but she generally is asleep before me. She's a morning dog for sure.
We think she might be our hero too. The other night she was seriously barking. Like howling and everything. Then Bobby and I noticed that the rest of the dogs in the neighborhood were fussing too. We figured that was what had set her off and settled her down. In the morning DH noticed that one of the back patio sliding glass doors was open!!! Now if it had been open earlier she would have been in and out all evening and likely wandering the neighborhood. It is most likely that someone opened it in the middle of the night. Guess they were surprised to be greeted by a not at all happy doberman.
Good girl!
And Amazon will be sending me "Answers to Distraction", "Driven to Distraction", and "Delivered from Distraction". For some reason the last two will be sent separately from the first and the first will take a couple of extra days.
Whatever. THANK YOU!!!
I have, sitting on my desk before me, a check for $15,644.46. Thank you, Grandpa Floyd Sr.
Though if you're handling that kind of money, shouldn't you have some sort of device that would, I don't know, print a check? Instead of hand writing it?
So, guess who's going to the bank tomorrow to set up some accounts?
