Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Thanks! Any of you who remember the evil mortgage fiasco of last year know how happy we were to give BoA the finger as we walked away.
Yay Pix, I look forward to that day myself. Evil.
Oh Steph, I understand the difficulty. Wish there was an easier way.
That must be a nice sense of accomplishment, Pix.
I got a new compliment at The Vitamin Shoppe--I stopped by on the way back from the barber's, so I've got 1mm of hair, and the guy behind the register was very excited by my haircut, and wrapped it up with "Way to break the mould!"
I'll take it. I'll take them all. Awkwardly and sometimes suspiciously, but I'll take 'em.
Two fire trucks and now 4 rescue vehicles just passed my house and stopped into front of one of the apartment buildings next door. One of them is parked on my lawn. Something seriously bad must be happening over there.
Okay, shit, here's another huge fire truck with a giant ladder on top. What the hell is going on? I wish there were a way to know.
Yeah, that's what I think whenever I see emergency vehicles on my block, it'd be nice to be able to look up somewhere what's happening or get a tweet or something. I hope everyone's okay by you.
Bah, the egg was gone when I returned from the hardware store. I suspect squirrels. Dove was in the basket when I left.
Ita, I'm sorry for your loss.
Congratulations, Pix!
You can also walk down and ask (or so I was told by an LAPD person when there were SWAT people on my block).
I got flirted with by a handsome guy with a little girl at the Lego store (by the minifig display, where my kids were assembling minifigs and trying to get me to buy them). People so rarely flirt with me (the last time it was before I had kids) that I was taken aback. We ended up talking about baking.
I'm sorry, ita.
Well, my parents' visit is being cut short. My uncle's cancer has spread to his liver, and he's not expected to live through the week. Instead of leaving on Monday, my folks are leaving tomorrow morning, so they can see him at the hospice.(Apparently he's being kept as comfortable as possible) Shit.
