Lorne: Once the word spreads you beat up an innocent old man, well, the truly terrible will think twice before going toe-to-toe with our Avenging Angel. Spike: Yes. The geriatric community will be soiling their nappies when they hear you're on the case. Bravo.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Oof. I'm sorry that he's testing, msbelle.

I am supposed to be organizing my shoes. What this means is that I am sitting on a stool in my closet, watching West Wing instead.

Taxes suck. I'm trying to figure out how much to raise my withholding by. The H&R Block lady said to go to 8% instead of the 3% I'm on, but I don't know how to translate that into number of withholding thingies to put in. I've always just put in 1, and I don't know if 2 will do it, and I don't want to get too much taken out of my paycheck.

Bah

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Connie, you don't want to change your allowance of 1 to 2, increasing your allowances will decrease how much is witheld. On line 6, enter the extra amount you want witheld every paycheck (5% of gross, it sounds like is the recommendation)

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Something about Steve Inskeep's voice really irritates me. It's like I hate his stupid face, except on the radio. No idea why. I am sure he is a perfectly fine person whom I should hold no animosity towards.

I have this with Kenny Goldberg. Usually it's just when he says his name (SO NASALLY), but the other day I had to switch the radio during the pledge pimping because he made me want to scream.

Yikes, msbelle. I have no advice, just wish you good luck.

Liese, your Benadryl experience is exactly mine, so I doubt it was a formulation difference - just how Benadryl is. I'm generally on a combo of Zyrtec & nasal sprays and I find the combo much more effective than just the pills ever were.

Oh, Liese, I meant to ask you whether you know name redacted ? He was a friend of Rich's and still does traveling evangelism (with music), so I wondered if your paths have crossed.

Thank you -t! I was wondering where I'd heard I should take 1 deduction even if I was married. It's 8 years since I filled out the W4.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Had a workshop for a total of one participant (three had signed up) but that was okay (one hadn't paid yet and has a rep for flaking, and the other paid but is a horrible person so I'm glad to get to keep her money). We had good conversation and my intern made a spring basket to give to her boyfriends mother and I made one to give to somebody we might want to thank for services rendered or butter up for the future.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Hmm. So far my allergies haven't been too bad this spring. It could be menopause (that helped with Mom's allergies and I've gotten there) or cutting out wheat for the past month. Either way I'll take it.

Sorry Mac's testing you, msbelle.

Maybe act interested or confused, msbelle? "Really? That's so weird that your teacher got that mixed up. Show me the work you did, and I'll make sure to talk to her & get it straightened out." So you're still on his side, but making him own it? (Disclaimer: Not a parent, my theories are untested and possibly useless).

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

OK, my Zyrtec and Nasacort combination was working pretty well, until I just went grocery shopping and had to walk through the huge display of flowers that they now have at the front of the produce department instead of over in the floral department where it used to be. Ow, my sinuses. But at least I'm just getting allergy trouble from extreme stuff like that, and not from, like, being outside anywhere.
