Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yeah, it would be nice to, but I wouldn't feel guilty if you can't/don't. Great news!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That's really good news.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I just uploaded 53 new pictures of shelter cats: [link]

Kitties!

Jesse, we had all my brothers come to town when we moved my folks into assisted living. And I'm wondering if maybe that was the wrong thing, because it made it all way more DRAMATIC than might have been wise. It was too exciting, too much going on, and so forth.

OTOH, you see your dad all the time, so it's not like your presence is going to make the move more stressful for him.

I guess that if you think being there will help, and not make it more difficult for either of your parents, you could go. But maybe you could visit the next day? My sister & I don't visit with my dad together much, because if we go separately he ends up seeing people more frequently (just in smaller groups).

That's exciting, Jesse! Maybe if you don't go, you can plan to take a few hours Frosay or the next week?

Tom, these are really great. I mean, I just yelled "KITTIES!" and put my hands out in an attempt to cuddle them through the intertubes, so I think that indicates a job well done.

KITTIES!

Those are great pictures, tommyrot. I bet they help a lot.

Dear self: no more cats for you. You have enough.

It is so hard watching someone you love making bad choice after bad choice. And now those bad choices are finally creating bad consequences and the person won't clue into the connection in choice and result. I know nothing I say or do will make a difference and it sucks holding my tongue.

Last time I was at the shelter I took about 330 pictures, which I narrowed down to 53 to upload. I shoot in burst-mode (because cats tend to not want to sit still) so I end up with 3-5 nearly-identical photos for each shot. Plus I go for a narrow depth-of-field, with just the cats' faces in focus, but sometimes I get a cat's nose in focus but not the eyes, so I can't use those photos.

I use Lightroom for post-production, which is invaluable. I crop photos and correct the exposure, and white balance if needed. But I can be a perfectionist so it's all good.
