I decided to wake up by reviewing my sister's paper on the lay understanding of sickle cell disease in Jamaica (the first on the topic), and it worked--except I had to print it out to get going. I feel like a traitor. It's the Galaxy Note that makes me writey writey.
I don't feel qualified to review it, since I think all the errors I find are because of me, not them. It is a dicey place, psychologically.
HA HA HA HA online tax site is "down for maintenance". No rush, tax site. No fucking rush.
My taxes are filed, woohoo! And I'm getting refunds, which is always nice.
Not meaning to gloat, Dana.
Fun thing brainstorming: lunch out, shopping of some kind, afternoon tea, massage, local touristy thing she never does because she lives there, flower arranging class, random train ride
My crowns are cemented back in my mouth and if anyone needs burial at sea, I can refer you to a very charming octogenarian.
These things are not related, just how weird my day has been.
What provider do you use for your cell phone? When I was in Northern Ireland in February I took a Galaxy S4 on T-Mobile with me.
I have a Galaxy S3 on Sprint. It's CDMA only, so it won't do calls/texts over there. I can't upgrade to the S4 until after I get back. Good timing, right!
Zen, ages ago (okay, several years) when I went to Italy with a group of fannish friends, I rented a cellphone for the group. I can look up that information for you if you want, though I'd be surprised if there isn't a better way these days.
I'd thought about renting a phone, but I wasn't sure that was even a reasonable option. Tesco sells pay-as-you-go phones that you can return within a month; that may end up being my best route.
This was the character I met tonight at the pool: [link]
I knew he was full of stories (and not just the ones he told me tonight.)
... and, yup. I'm on the jury. Bah. So boring. I'm so used to not being empanelled because I have a JD, I just assumed they didn't want me. But even if they didn't want me, they pretty much ran out of challenges by the time they got to me.
So the trial runs through Thursday, and we have Friday off, and then probably deliberate on Monday. Argh.
The last time I was in Heathrow, there was a vending machine selling burner phones just past security in the terminal.
Eek, good luck with the jury, Suela! Kind of dreadful timing, isn't it?
I just got an email for this coming weekend's big dance tournament--I volunteered for one session (2 hours), but they listed out the still-open session and DANG, there's a lot still open. I feel bad for them...but don't have any intention of adding even more hours.
