I have some losartan that say "discard by april 2014".
It's totally fine. The only time you should be concerned is if the pills are crumbly or otherwise disintegrating, smelly, or discolored. (Or if they're capsules, if the capsules are wildly warped out of shape or are smelly or somehow damp.)

And that advice is true whether the meds are past their expiration date or have a year to go before they hit their expiration date. If it's physically funky/smelly/gnarly, don't take it.
Honestly, with meds, a conservative estimate is that you've got 1-3 months past the expiration date, but probably more like 6-12 months. (I will not admit how far past the expiration date I've taken meds. Nor do I recommend it. But based on using myself as my own lab rat, I am 100% confident that on April 4, you are safe to take meds with a label that say "discard by April 2014".)
Oh Kat, how heartbreaking for that family!
I have a friend whose son is dying. Not right away, not in the next few months, but he has a very serious disease, and its progression is downhill. Every time she posts about his going into the hospital again, my heart breaks for her a little more.
My head has been punishing me. I assume it's sinuses, but I had a fleeting fear that the bonk on my cheek that gave me the black eye--and which still hurts to the touch--had gotten infected. My sister reassured me that it was unlikely. Oh, and then I picked up my son and discovered he had a fever of 101.8 and a sore throat, so now I get to worry about catching whatever he has. arrgh! No time to get sick right now, folks!
I had to show people my drivers license to convince them I'm 47. So that's good.
Excellent!
Thanks to posting some throwback thursday pictures, another friend posted some very old school college pictures, which I'm guessing is what led to someone from...college?...friend-requesting me. Except, although he's friends with 25 other people we did theater with, I have zero recollection of his name. And none of his pictures seem to be public. WTF?
Maybe he's a zombie?
I have to fold all the clothes. DO NOT WANT. I did do all the dishes and made all the food. This grown up thing blows.
I think next year I am going to need to hire a daily tutor for Grace.
Oh! I have news to share. I am leery of posting it to FB, but Franny got into Palms Magnet! She is very happy, we are very relieved.
I miss people. Need to have a housewarming, soon.
Aw, I'd love to see you, Allyson. I am always saying we need to have a party, but then I back down when I remember it would involved people seeing my house. But your house is so lovely!
Allyson, I WILL meet up with you for you to show off house (and kitchen work) this TG, ok??
I'm 5 yrs overdue on my housewarming. Maybe it will end up a banister-warming (don't fucking scratch the varnish!)
