Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

Oh no, Jessica.

I have a 90-minute class to teach at 1:30 to Master's students in Arts Administration about grants. Which would be fine, except I have developed a head cold and right now my nose is running so much it will be really embarrassing to be in front of them. And my brain is really fuzzy because of all the snot taking over my head. I need to feel at least a little better VERY SOON.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

My gastritis seems to be easing up noticeably -- I had a good talk with the substitute doctor where I expressed some skepticism that they were sending me to an OTC remedy for something that seemed so serious, but she pointed out that the stuff only came off prescription recently.

And then she further explained (which is what I really needed to know) that what they were doing is "diagnosis by treatment" -- that, given that the blood and other tests they've done have eliminated a ton of nasty stuff, if the Prilosec works, they know what it was and we're spared a bunch of even more expensive tests....

Oh crap -- the TWOP shutdown is hitting too close to home!

Allyson, I didn't ever go to the Hoarders discussion over there, as I didn't even know about it. Damn....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow, they're closing down TWOP.

Wow -- sorry to Jess's DH and Cindy! I wonder what kind of hiring Previously.tv (the new site from the MBTV founders) could do.

And then she further explained (which is what I really needed to know) that what they were doing is "diagnosis by treatment"

Interesting.

msbelle, I love that dress.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

that is very cute.

FYI - the 3rd closed door meeting is going on. Still nothing officially said.

I am doing work, but not really. I am refreshing reports and when a number changes in an area that I can update my spreadsheet I am doing that, but the papers on my desk are getting no love today.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I have procured the DVD of Pacific Rim from the library (we are losers who didn't see it in the theater) and cat food from the grocery store. There may also be some truth to the rumor that gluten-free cookies came home with me.

Now work work work. And then yoga.

My life is one nonstop party.

If I can get my mother to take to the totally out-of-the-way Macy's furniture gallery, maybe I can save enough money on a couch to buy all the dresses! As it is, I should hold off.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Those are cute dresses!

However I have learned that I look best in tailored sheath dresses or unstructured shifts, with vertical lines and no small patterns. (I tried on a black-and-white horizontally-striped dress yesterday, and with my hair, I looked like a television tuned to fuzz. So awful.) And I don't have the tiny waist you need for a lot of vintage stuff.

OK, I ran, which is one thing down. Now to call the vet.
