Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

brillig

Nice bit of snow just fell in the mountains, which is an excellent place for it. Rain on the roads down here in the valley.

An arrangement I can believe in.

But it feels so right!

It really does! Right until someone asks me to explain why I think that and I realize I don't even know.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Speaking of which, I am having trouble getting a hold of dose 2 of our treatments, which is bumming me out. Maybe I'll go buy a silicone hair product on my way home and try it on the kids. I don't like putting the poisons on their heads but I also don't like lice. And my sister looks down on me for failing to keep my kids lice-free.

FWIW, during our lice outbreak, Paul did a lot of research, and it sounds like the chemicals really aren't all they're cracked up to be, and that the best solution is a high-silicone hair product (the cheap shine sprays are A++) and a good comb.

information libertarian

It is so much easier to lice-comb my son's hair (longish for a boy) than my daughter's (long required for dance - she actually wants to cut it but can't.) Honestly, lice are sort of like mosquito bites - annoying, but not a threat to anyone's health unless you're allergic or something. But if they're not that contagious, how come my kids keep getting them? They don't share hats or brushes at school, and we've only had one sleepover this year.

isn't greasy hair good for getting rid of lice?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That is what I am thinking of trying, Plei. The treatment we've been using is alcohol-based, not chemical, but it is kinda harsh on the hair. And it turns out to be hard to get. Good combs we have. Do you have to saturate the hair with the silicone product and/or leave it on a long time?

based on anecdotal evidence (namely Isaac), I'm going with not an effective preventive measure.

ok, apparently big meeting tomorrow when ALL WILL BE EXPLAINED wrt work. boss is dying to tell me stuff, but I held up my hand when he started and said, "I will be here tomorrow, I do not want to be told anything." he cannot understand my unwillingness to react.

He jokingly said "just wait to start dancing until I am actually gone." I gave him the Alicia.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Alicia is always the right choice. (I even wish I could get the Alicia sofa!)
