based on anecdotal evidence (namely Isaac), I'm going with not an effective preventive measure.

One of my prima donna doctors physically took the computer, monitor, etc and threw it into the office manager's office and told her he wanted nothing to do with it. DH brought him around. He is magical that way.

Shocking new school lice policies

Wow, I wish this was the case when the boys were in school. I was pretty much spared it, but I know a lot of parents that suffered often.

And my sister looks down on me for failing to keep my kids lice-free.

Total bullshit! It seems just luck. Like some people are irresistible to mosquitoes (like me) and other are never bothered. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Frank, so much coping~ma for your friend. That is a horrible way to get that kind of news.

I had gone to the grocery store salad bar and purchased a container of wild mushroom soup and made a lovely salad. Then when I got back to the office a friend visiting from PA had shown up and we went to lunch next door and I had Pad Thai. I haven't seen Dan in 25 years or so and it was super nice. Reconnected from Facebook. Many bad things to say about Facebook, but reconnecting with old friends and family is a real positive. I tossed the grocery store lunch in the fridge for tomorrow. I'll catch up with Dan again on my trip north because Allentown is easily along the route. So nice to see him.

But if they're not that contagious, how come my kids keep getting them?

Coat rack? If the coats are all mashed together?

I've never had it...my mother credits her hair obsession, but I didn't get in big classes till the upper grades.

I never had it either, and I don't remember any outbreaks at my schools.

The crabs outbreak in college was amusing, for the uncomfortable talk that took place in the dorm TV room.
