Holy god, how do you people remember this stuff? I barely remembered Beth until Sophia mentioned her.
GL was my first fandom, and Beth and LuJack my first OTP. So, I remember everything about it.
I do remember a later character named Harley, though, and I keep wanting to call her Harley Quinn.
Harley Cooper.
I forgot he was Angel's father/step father. But I did the same thing Jesse did-- every time I saw him, I thought of 'rapist Bradley Raines"
I felt for many years that Beth really did belong to Lujack- I liked hime a lot better than Phillip. I also liked Philip with India, but I am a sucker for a fake marraige story, which I think is what they had.
Harley Cooper! I liked her. And Reva. And Beth and LuJack, who I had a ginormous crush on.
Good times.
India was awesome.
I imagine we all started watching when they started doing the teenager summer stories, with Philip and Rick Bauer and them.
It's like you all just started talking in a completely different language.
Also, the board just loaded REALLY slowly and I got scared.
Oh my god, I think I remember that scene.
I used to spend summers drawing the costumes from As the World Turns and Guiding Light. For some reason I was particularly enamored of the way Shannon from ATWT dressed- pretty jewel tones and lots of scarves. So I guess you can say that soap operas lead me to doing costumes...
I'm afraid I was utterly spoiled by my spring break last week. Now I'm back at work and so sleepy and unfocused. (OK, that's probably due to waking up with the kid at 5:30. I am SO looking forward to the day when she can wake up and just hang out on her own for a while without waking us up.)
I just love finding other GL people. GH was so popular where I grew up, I was on my own (except for my mom).
You can't beat storylines like this:
She has been married nine times to seven different men, has been diagnosed as a manic-depressive, presumed dead various times in which she lost her memory and thought she was an Amish woman and lived the life as a princess, undergone a battle with Dolly, a clone who attempted to overtake her life after her husband allowed a reproduction of his wife after she apparently died and traveled through time.
