So Sara's Dad.
To which I responded, 'Is it your goal to be bitten by the local wildlife everywhere you go?!!!'
I can see why he'd want to visit Australia.
Heh Sarameg.
Diamond shoes too tight complaint. Someone gave us an aged Kansas city strip as a present. So I cooked it I think excellently. I marinated in lime juice with salt, pepper and garlic, browned it on both sides in a pan with more salt, pepper and garlic, then broiled it at 450 until it was barely medium rare. The texture was perfect. And it was totally bland and flavorless. I think I'm just not used to steak. I mostly avoid red meat, and when I have red meat it is stuff like chuck or pork loin cut into small pieces cooked in a stew with strong flavored veggies and strong flavored liquids and spices. Quite honestly I liked the (low fat) turkey bacon with cabbage, celery, peas, carrots and corn I made last night better. Ruth agreed. I guess fancy cuts of meat are wasted on us. And while I know the perfect way to cook Kansas City Strip is grilling, pan browning then broiling is a perfectly respectable choice.
BTDT. I think a kangaroo got him. We all were definitely nibbled on by rock wallabies, cause we hand fed them at Granite Gorge. OH, but I totally remember they drew his blood too!
I'm not sure whether it is better or worse that my main AUS creature mishaps were being pooped on by a koala and fruitbats. And postured at by a cassowary.
OK, here's something marvelous to cheer you up, if you need it: [link]
Fantastic women's barbershop quartet doing a medley of love songs. So excellent!

I don't eat steak often, but I always marinate it something strong like Worcestshire sauce.
I do salt it, but the main thing is that I put butter on it to melt before I serve it. I know that seems like excess, but that's what the French like to do and it makes it taste super yummy.
I like to use cracked peppercorns with steak (and salt too) which is perfect for me. Enough meat flavor without other flavors.
For dinner, I made a use up leftovers lasagne (I had noodles already and made a sauce with sausage, mushrooms, cream, tomatoes). It was pretty good, and the noodles were perfectly al dente which I prefer. I assume if I had cooked it another 15 minutes it would have been softer, but everyone was hungry.
Now I'm having skyr which is very tart, but still yummy.

I just bought their album! Thanks for the rec!
I did laundry, culled expired things from the Lazy Susan and removed everything to scrub the shelves, culled expired things from the refrigerator and cleaned some of the shelves, I swept, did dishes, changed the air filter, took out garbage, and went through some lessons in the online course I'm taking
That is LOTS of productivity! Go you!
I...went to Joann Fabrics and managed to only buy the stuff I needed (!!), then got empanadas with my friend who came to the fabric store with me, then we sewed a bit (I mostly ironed stuff to the t-shirts so they'd be stiffer fabric, and then cut them out into the squares for my quilt). Then I worked out, then met up with my sister's friend for dinner, took them to cupcakes, dropped them off, and now am watching Amazing Race. ...not nearly so productive.
