Weekend plans: whatever is cheap and gets us out of the house. M has a ton of work to do this weekend, so Rose and I will have some quality together time. Maybe the zoo? (We have a membership, so the only cost of going to the zoo is paying for brunch at our favorite Mexican place afterwards.)
It's been a tough couple of days for Rose, actually. On Wednesday morning she fell off the couch and split her lip open on the coffee table. Our first really bloody injury. She cried a lot when it happened, but after she calmed down from the shock of it, was pretty much fine. Then last night she woke up screaming in the night and could not be consoled for over an hour. She was pretty gassy, so we eventually gave her some infant gas drops that we had kept around, and I guess that did the trick, but her voice is all hoarse today. I haven't seen her scream like that since she was really tiny. It was very unsettling, but she seems fine today. Fingers crossed we make it through the weekend without any more incidents...
Zoo! Zoo! Especially if the weather's nice.
btw the songI was thinking of the other day was Of Monsters and Men.
Oh, cool, I have liked what I've heard by them.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too, though I haven't checked the weather yet. But I like our zoo a lot. There's a kangaroo enclosure where you can go in and walk around with them, and if they approach you, you can touch them!
::makes plans to visit Kate's zoo::
I need to get back to the Philadelphia Zoo this summer. They were renovating and doing work for so long, not a lot of it was actually open for a while. It's such a great size for a zoo, though -- not too big and not too small.
I may try to get some baking in while doing laundry/writing this weekend, although I definitely have to get outside if it continues to be so springy.
msbelle, that's infuriating and absurd. Glad you're free of Bad Boss, though.
Anyone interested in a Chromebook?
I am, and I bought one of those! Thanks, tommyrot.

What?!? That's awesome!
Poor Rose. IIRC, two-ish is when night terrors are pretty common, so, possibly no actual cause needed for screaming. They suck, but for most people they go away.
Ah, a glass of chardonnay (because Spring!) and some chicken paté, shabbos dinner of champions. But now I might be too inebriated for Cosmos. Not to worry, I have plenty of less intellectually demanding TV to watch.
I also bought a chromebook. Exciting! Also got a case for said chromebook, and a briefcase to fill with tacos. Because Amazon.
a briefcase to fill with tacos
I am intrigued by this and wish to know more.
