I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Trunk full of dress up clothes is an awesome gift!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Thanks! I'm super excited about it. Some of it won't fit her for a while, but I found several things at Goodwill today that she can wear now. She's gotten some random costumey things over the last couple of years from grandparents, too, and I spread the word to family that I was doing a dress-up trunk, and would welcome their contributions. I also tossed in a bunch of stuff I'd picked up on my travels that I have no use for now but that will be fun for her to play with, plus a few pieces of costume jewelry and the terrible wig I bought this past Halloween.

We had a trunk full of dress-up clothes when I was a kid, and I still remember some of the bizarre things it contained. My brother and I got YEARS of enjoyment out of that stuff.

Because books.

That's a fantastic gift, Kate. And go you with the getting stuff done!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Thanks Lisa!

That is an awesome idea, Kate!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Such an awesome idea. We have some costumes we could send. My kids never really did dress up or imaginative play like that at home. They are more of a game with rules sort of bunch.

When I was a kid, my sister and I had bunk beds and the base had two huge drawers. One of those drawers was full of dress up clothes, and it was great. I forget what was in the other drawer, probably toys of some sort.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That's a wonderful idea, Kate. Like Kat, I might have a couple old dress up items for her.

Because books.

Sara LOVED dress-up. There was a Dracula princess outfit she wore daily for a while. And now she's discovered makeup.

So did I--I think it had some bridesmaid dresses of my moms and I remember this big silly sheet that she apparently used in a belly dance class she took once.

But how is Rose old enough to enjoy dress up?? Isn't she like, a year old?
