Ouch, meara! I've had a big toenail torn in its nail bed. Hurts like hell! (lost the toenail too)

Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Hip still giving me trouble. While not in agony trouble comes and goes. Extremely difficult to put on shoes and socks. When pain peaks tough to take stairs. Definitely calling doctor as soon as they open. Occasional childish scream or yip when pain takes me by surprise.
I hope you get quick diag and relief.
Work isn't opening its doors until 10 at the soonest. I didn't pick up the laptop because 1) DENIAL and 2) I was supposed to start swapping machines today, so needed a clean backup. There's a lot more snow out there than I expected.
At this point, I'm not going to even try hard. My only true goal shall be to make half-price margarita night tonight. I'm so fucking over winter.
Congrats, Brenda!
I hope your hip feels better soon, Typo Boy.
We had just enough freezing drizzle to make things treacherous but not enough to close anything. It's supposed to be on and off rain and low-30s all day, dipping lower after sunset. So tonight I'm expecting a glorious display of amateur drunks on ice. A good night to stay in.
Woo hoo, brenda! Exciting!
Jesse, we are doing gardening this year using minifarm box
Ooh, that looks perfect. My problem is, I look at that and think I could make a box myself for less $$ than that. Would I ever? Odds are slim. Would it actually be cheaper? I have no idea. Due to the fact that I have never built anything!!
The problem with growing anything at ground level in our tiny backyard is that the dog can get to it and pee on it, which he will do, no question. It doesn't seem like being subjected to daily dog business could be good for a baby garden. But maybe I'm wrong about that.)
Peeing isn't so much the issue (at least til now, thanks) as consumption. Darb has and will pull a zucchini plant right out if the dirt and eat it.
One of my plans for the cottage is to plant a big patch of sunflowers. Partly because I love them, but also so maybe all the ones in my neighborhood can get a break. They don't fare so well in the game of Plants v Darbys.
My current notion is some flowering groundcover thing, maybe in the front as well as the back? (Along with whatever container I use for vegetables....) Or I could just fix up the grass in front. Or do nothing! We shall see.
Timelies all!
Yay Brenda!
Yet another snow day here. End, winter, end!
I am pro flowering groundcover, generally.
Earthquake!
