Angel: Yeah, I never told anyone about this, but I-I liked your poems. Spike: You like Barry Manilow.

Because books.

That's a great picture, tommy. She has gorgeous eyes.

I'm at the busiest Panera in the world (I think it's official, actually -- I have never seen so many people out for lunch on a Monday) writing with a friend.

Trying to write, anyway. I have 400 words so far. Whoo?

Oh, Suzi, ouch. No way it can wait till after vacation? You need all the massages and fruity drinks and cabana boys, lady.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So. Two root canals. Maybe both today. Maybe just one. Trying to work out logistics now.

Good luck!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Totally random question, but does anyone here use a rain barrel and/or have any recommendations/advice to share on them?

I am looking into ways to be able to water plants and such this summer, even with the drought, so this would be more a collected-water-from-the-house barrel more than a rain barrel, but I think the basic premise should be the same.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Ouch, Suzi. I hope it all works out, and results in less pain eventually.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Yikes, Suzi! Wishing you easy procedure~ma.

Ok, so some of you saw this on fb, but I wanted to link for those who didn't: this is the photo I submitted yesterday to Skateistan's #dayinthelife photo exchange event for International Women's Day. The girls in their skateboarding program in Afghanistan will judge the photos and choose a winner. I just love the idea of these young women looking at photos of adult women all over the world in their various roles and learning to visualize a different future for themselves. I just really really like this org.

Liese, I saw this on FB but didn't know anything about the organization. That is such a fabulous idea! Man, that just put a big smile on my face. So cool.

So today, I dropped off the kid at daycare, then had to run back out to the car to get her extra pair of pants. Then I headed off to work, only to realize that I had left the bag with my books and work laptop in it at home, so I turned back around to get it. 20 minutes late to work. Then after half an hour, I realized that I had ALSO forgotten my lanyard (with my badge and keys on it) in my car... which M took today, so he could return the 20 folding chairs I rented for my friend's baby shower on Saturday. ARGH. Also, I only had 10 minutes for lunch, and now I have to go interview a candidate for the Library Director position. Given how scatterbrained I am today, I'll be lucky to remember my own name, let alone his...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Dag, Suzi -- you did not need one more thing on your plate! Although, if you are in pain, the work should help with that, at least...

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Going with one root canal/ crown today and then gum treatment tomorrow. Anything else will be post vacation.

I have a blanket, Devil Wears Prada on the computer with headphones, and am waiting for the numbing stuff. Don't y'all just love the dental watch and post? Blerg.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I hope for minimal pain and ickiness, Suzi.

I am having a mean reds kind of day. I am not particularly worried about not having a job, because I'm lazy and lucky to have an employed spouse, but it's still kind of frustrating to be on the job-hunting grind, especially when I'm applying for jobs I suspect I would kind of hate. Blah.

I packed up the laptop and came to the library for a change of scene. I'm applying for copy editing jobs I can find and contemplating a story idea that's been kicking around my head for a bit.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

so frustrated with a customer right now.

They emailed on Friday asking for copies of delivery slips (something they should already have, but that we will re- supply because it is how we get paid), I emailed them. Another lady from same company emails asking for many of the same ones, and cc's the woman who asked for them the first time.

I send back and email saying, I sent this batch at XX o'clock and this batch at XX o'clock.

Today I get ANOTHER email from lady #2 asking for the very same list, so I forward her the 2 emails from Friday with the batches attached.

Jesusita.
