Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I hope for minimal pain and ickiness, Suzi.
I am having a mean reds kind of day. I am not particularly worried about not having a job, because I'm lazy and lucky to have an employed spouse, but it's still kind of frustrating to be on the job-hunting grind, especially when I'm applying for jobs I suspect I would kind of hate. Blah.
I packed up the laptop and came to the library for a change of scene. I'm applying for copy editing jobs I can find and contemplating a story idea that's been kicking around my head for a bit.
so frustrated with a customer right now.
They emailed on Friday asking for copies of delivery slips (something they should already have, but that we will re- supply because it is how we get paid), I emailed them. Another lady from same company emails asking for many of the same ones, and cc's the woman who asked for them the first time.
I send back and email saying, I sent this batch at XX o'clock and this batch at XX o'clock.
Today I get ANOTHER email from lady #2 asking for the very same list, so I forward her the 2 emails from Friday with the batches attached.
Jesusita.
Good grief msbelle. Though at least it was all via email so you could just re-send, and not have to be like "I faxed that. Did you not get it? I've got a confirmation..."
Tommyrot, that's a great picture of the cat, wow!
Kate, I hate that scatterbrained feeling.
I am still on vacation (one and a half more days!) and attempting to not get toooooo sunburnt before the end of it, while still imbibing the maximum amount of Vitamin D. Also not sure I'll be able to get through all of Season 3 of Veronica Mars--I think I watched two or three episodes last night, but that still leaves...many.
Yikes, SuziQ. I hope it all goes smoothly and painlessly.
Also not sure I'll be able to get through all of Season 3 of Veronica Mars
I wouldn't actually recommend watching it. I doubt the movie is going to rely in any way on the events of Season 3. Also, it was kind of awful compared to S1 (and even S2, which had problems).
I had a great weekend skiing in the mountains with my sister, but when I got home my stomach began to hurt. Which it continued to do all night long, cramping and icky, even if I lay perfectly still. I hardly slept at all, and now I'm at home drinking soothing herbal tea with honey and wishing my body functioned just a little better.
Oh, I liked S3 (and S2). They weren't as tightly plotted as S1, but even S1 had a few problems. Veronica is still Veronica, and I enjoyed. Plus, after watching the first 8 minutes of the movie, they refer to S3 a lot more than I would have guessed.
Yeah, I figure even if it's not required, there was enough that I had forgotten in Season 2 (I'd rewatched most of S1 before, while indoctrinating people in the past) that I want to make sure I didn't completely forget anything big...and it's more fun than reading a plot summary.
Good luck Suzi, I hope it all goes as smoothly and painlessly as possible.
Dentist is done. My right sinus is full of the bumming stuff.
Now we are on the way to see the doc about CJs ADHD. Not sure if he has to be rediagnosed or what. But we need some kind of help for him.
Okay, I applied for a job, wrote 200 words of fiction, did some clipping for a vid, went to Wal-Mart and engaged in the usual fight with their pharmacy department (and bought garlic cheesy bread potato chips), and then came home and talked to a recruiter and scheduled an interview for Wednesday morning.
That counts as doing stuff, right?
