Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

At the dentist. My teeth are worse than expected and I had low expectations. Now to come up with a game plan. But I'm alone waiting for now.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My cable and internet have been out since Friday. I'm at home waiting for Comcast to show up. They're supposed to be here between 10:00 and 12:00. Seven minutes left....

eta: Clearly I can't do math today.

I got a call from Comcast--the guy is running late but should be here... sometime.

ION, tonight I go to an orientation at the cat-rescue place I applied to volunteer at (as a photographer). So apparently that's actually gonna happen.

Does anyone have a favorite pet shelter adoption site that has good pictures of the pets up for adoption? I wanna get some sense of what other pet photographers are doing.

I found a how-to video for shelter pet photography that was useful. They recommended using a 50mm lens with the aperture open all the way to get a nice blurred background that draws the viewers' attention to the pet.

Here's a picture of Squeaky I took following that advice: [link] (I used a 35mm lens which would be the equivalent of a 52.5mm lens on a full-size DSLR.)

Great picture tommyrot. Best of luck to you.

So. Two root canals. Maybe both today. Maybe just one. Trying to work out logistics now.

Because books.

That's a great picture, tommy. She has gorgeous eyes.

I'm at the busiest Panera in the world (I think it's official, actually -- I have never seen so many people out for lunch on a Monday) writing with a friend.

Trying to write, anyway. I have 400 words so far. Whoo?

Oh, Suzi, ouch. No way it can wait till after vacation? You need all the massages and fruity drinks and cabana boys, lady.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Totally random question, but does anyone here use a rain barrel and/or have any recommendations/advice to share on them?

I am looking into ways to be able to water plants and such this summer, even with the drought, so this would be more a collected-water-from-the-house barrel more than a rain barrel, but I think the basic premise should be the same.

Ouch, Suzi. I hope it all works out, and results in less pain eventually.
