Well, you'd better not be thinking what I think you're thinking, because my answer is the same as always — no threesomes unless it's boy-boy-girl. Or Charlize Theron.

I must say, I think Weevil looked way hotter with his mustache--suddenly in these eps he doesn't have one, and it's disappointing.

Punishingly Intricate

(lisah, believe Emily works with you.) I was surprised to see the sign go up, must get the scuttlebutt.

She does! I'll have to find out why they're moving. Their bathroom has a lot of the elements we are planning for our bathroom that we're redoing--the floor and the subway tile with black capper anyway. It's current look, that it's had since I bought the place, is redone in the 70s probably. There's horrible drop ceiling and some kind of vinyl wall covering. We're ripping everything out and making it bigger by building into the light shaft. By "we" I mean my friend the contractor. "We" are not nearly that DIY-capable. Tomorrow he and Bob are going to the reclaimed building materials place to, we hope, get a clawfoot tub that we will have reglazed and painted. Good times!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Anyone want to go sofa shopping for me? I got my tax refund and am feeling flush. My problem is, I like the midcentury look like this or this, but I feel like it wouldn't be that comfortable to sit on? Can anyone tell me different?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I'm horrible at sofa shopping. Even when I can test them out and try to predict long term comfort. I'm 0-2. My current couch, which is actually comfy, is a hand me down from some friends.

In other news...Fernet.

Emily said it is basically to be closer to aging family.

Let me know what you find out about reglazing. I still need to get my purple sink reglazed/patched and out of the front room. And I still want it purple! I think I need to do the tub as well, enough of the top finish is gone, I worry (and scrub a lot to remove stains that like to gather in the more porous parts.)

Ben-formerly-of-next-door got a sweet deal on a clawfoot from...I think Second Chances? It's a beauty. I don't know if he had to refinish it or not, I assume so.

It seems really hard! Eh, I'm in no rush, I guess.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

People should post links!

I totally have a shopping list for when I get my refund, and it even includes a new sofa/loveseat for the TV room.

I also want to buy some new bushes and trees for the backyard, but I am wavering on that part, because the drought is still bad enough that I am not sure I want to buy new stuff that needs watering.

The key with those squarish ones is firmness, not hardness. And plenty of padding on the lean points. You don't want them to lose their shape but you also don't want to bounce off. Also, pillows. That can take a comfortable sit into a lounge. Sandra down the street has a modern modular boxy L thing that is also quite comfy- you don't feel any sharp edge leaning up against an arm (we always end up sprawled all over it with lots of pillow. WINE.)

The arms on the first would make lounging iffy, too high. Second, the poofy pillow bits shouldn't be too soft, but actually support.

And here I put my refund straight into savings and pretended it didn't happen. I'm no fun.

I am doing that with half of it!
