Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This

Yay for no longer having the potential for medical bankruptcy!
Yay is right!
I also bought all the things! At least, all the things I've been wanting: rug for the living room (too small, but the colors are right), pillow for the kitchen, new duvet. Woo!
So, I recently discovered I like falafel. I had tried it before and not liked it, and I could never figure out why, because I like everything that makes it up, but whatever -- life is too short, right? Well, some friends wanted to have it recently, and maybe the version I had before was just bad, because that shit is delicious!
In short, I just had some falafel.
Falafel is only really good if it's fresh out of the fryer. I've had versions that tried to be healthy (because vegan, I guess?) by baking them instead, and they were totally unappealing.
I've had baked falafel that was good. I even like cold leftover falafel, though, so maybe my threshold for okay falafel is pretty low. But fresh out of the fryer with the perfect balance of spices is really extraordinarily delicious.
I have yet to have a good falafel experience. I'm with Jesse that I feel like I should like it as I like the ingredients.
So tired and broken. All the shelves and drawers in my room and bathroom are empty. I still have a few piles that need to find their way into a box, but the majority is handled. I'm trying to get CJ to do the same with him room and his bathroom. Tomorrow - the kitchen.
My back and hips are killing me. With the boot, I put most of my weight on my other leg, throwing my hips and everything else out of whack. I'm trying to do as much as I can from a sitting position, but that makes it hard to get much done.
My local place also has a ton of different sauces and pickled veg you can put on it, so even if the falafel itself wasn't good (and it is), you could distract yourself with other stuff.
Suzi, I am so impressed with everything you've done! Is there any way you could hire someone to help with any of the packing?
Mm, now I kinda miss Amsterdam Falafel in DC. Delicious.
My local is Amsterdam Falafel!

We are close to the end and I am making CJ work, bringing me stuff and moving boxes once I have them packed in addition to the list I have him working on. By this time next week we should be in the new place, with just cleanup of the old place left and I have a friend who has offered to do that for me. Since they are renovating the soon to be old apartment, cleaning up is basically just general vacuuming and spiffying up the bathrooms.
Thanks for the kind words. They mean a bunch. I have had local friends who have said they would help but so far only one has actually helped.
My goal for this weekend is to have everything packed except the electronics, clothes and hygiene items, food for the week, and a few dishes/silverware/cups each. Everything else - in a box.
Aw, Suzi. I wish I could help.
