Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

Cutie-pie, Charlie! What a good boy.

I should furminate the Walter. I suppose it could still happen but seeing as how I just got around to scrambling some eggs for breakfast lunch I'd better not make any promises.

What I am doing is making soup, hooray! Also finally, I've been meaning to do that for at least a couple of weeks.

That is some hilarious and awesome Avengers fanart, btw. So clever!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

"Are you in pain, ita, is that why you're calling?" DUDE. I'm calling because you're even later for "between ten and eleven" than normal. "I'll hurry finishing this patient, then, and I should be there by 12:30."

I've trained the conversation so she doesn't suggest anything any more, she gives the meds correctly, but SHIT. I'm always in pain Sunday morning. I don't want you to think I need extra pain for you to be on time or inform me when you're ridiculously late. You do this because there is unmanageable pain and you are the nurse hired to administer medication. That's the DEFAULT.

The lump of extra fucking awful that got added this week is not relevant to your timeliness.

Signed,
Disgruntled.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hi Charlie! Hi! Who's a cute boy? YOU ARE!

Aw, Lisa, sometimes that's just the way it goes. You are not self-defeating! (Even if self-defeated at this exact moment...)

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I ran out of gas before I finished cleaning my apartment today. I got most of it done, though.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

(I am myself working on moving away from "Ugh, you are the worst, self" to "OK, so X didn't get done, but tomorrow is another day")

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Good boy Charlie! Darby is your sister in scary bath time this week. Now superseded by the clear danger of WAVES at the beach.

Woo, go lisah, preserving food for later!

Got my indoor herb garden planted! Bought the plants, um, two weeks ago. The dill did not survive the waiting-around-to-be-planted phase, I don't think, but it was a spindly little specimen to start with. Two parsley plants, basil, chives, and maybe dill in the big coffee cup planter, tarragon in the small coffee cup planter, and sorrel in the small pinkish planter with no drainage. We'll see how they do. They're on the outside coffee table right now because, I don't know why, that's just my habit with newly planted pots, but they'll live on the kitchen table so as to be handy for snipping off a bit to go into meals.

(ETA: go all of us for getting done whatever we can and not beating ourselves up about what we can't. We're doing pretty well, it sounds like to me! I have to have this little talk with myself ALL THE TIME ABOUT EVERYTHING, so, y'know, I feel ya, people)

Outside I've just got garlic chives and thyme. I keep thinking I have oregano, but I don't, it succumbed to the heat or something a while back. And the rosemary in its own pot, of course.

I managed to get up early today (partly because I did nothing last night), because I was supposed to meet my trainer at 9AM. Then as I was walking to the gym he called to cancel. I went home to get my headphones, dithered for a bit, and eventually went back and was on the elliptical for a while. But then I got coffee and a croissant (mmm, so bad for me) and have accomplished nothing since. ...I should go get an oil change and return some clothes. Maybe I'll go to the movies. I had two different friends that were like "yeah, let's hang out this weekend!" and then yesterday were like "yeah, not today, how about sunday??" and then...nothing. BOO.
