I left work at 4:20, but the closing process just hit a snag on something that was mine, so I had to come back in. (I can't login remotely at the moment). Now I am afraid to leave lest I have to come back up again.

My new building is very open plan. So of course people pause to have phone conversations in the open elevator lobby, where their words can echo to as many corners as possible. I swear, this woman was moving around to find the best echo.
That's so awful for your friend, Juliebird.
And msbelle, having to come back into work is always a dud. feh.
Now I'm choosing owl rescue groups to give to in NJ on her behalf. Or maybe it should be Mass, since that's where she's from.
I got up early to go to the airport, lost my debit card (not a huge deal--canceled it and have others but still) and did a ton of work but am still not done with what I need to do. Should finish some more of it tonight, not sure if I will. But I only have Wednesday at home before I leave for vacation.
Also had a panic earlier that the place I'm staying at for vacation might not have Internet. I know the place I asked about did, but that one wasn't available and she offered another place in the same complex, but it's owned by other folks. It probably has it but I'll be super annoyed if I didn't check that.
That would be annoying, I hope they have it meara.
Hey does anyone have a good recipe for cooking rice in coconut milk? I've been wanting to try that for a while, but just haven't gotten around to it.
Pumpkin had a couple nibbles of genoa salami last night. Never again. It's kitten-with-worms farts all over again. Eye-watering. And she seems pleased with herself.
Took a 45 minute walk before sunset, since I couldn't swim and was about to lose my mind. Pleased to see most of the 'hood is like my block and the sidewalks were well tended. AND there's a super good sam on Ednor who runs their snowblower for THE WHOLE BLOCK. And alleys.
I want a snowblower. I will be that person.
So ready to go into the office tomorrow.

I usually just replace about half the water I'd normally use with coconut milk and it works well. I can't find a recipe I've used though. I did use this one for coconut rice pudding that was super yummy:
Oooh, coconut rice pudding. I need to try that.

That's what I do too. Plus a little salt to counter the sweetness of the coconut milk.
