Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You're doing a ton! I am super jealous of the Thai delivery.

Shot and a nap, Kat! It sounds like more fun if you don't know what kind of shot you are talking about.

I have so many dishes to wash! I just want to get my kitchen in good enough shape that I can celebrate Butter Sunday tomorrow by making a bunch of pancakes and maybe waffles, but even that modest goal is surprisingly challenging. Oh well, at least I'm not really trying to do anything else at the same time. Except cooking. Oops. But I keep thinking of dishes I want to try to make and I need to cook while I have motivation!

At least roasting beets doesn't dirty any dishes...

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I promised myself I would do a deep clean of the whole house this weekend, which I am pretty sure makes me a lying liar who lies, but the kitchen and front nook area are a lot cleaner than they were at least.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm pretty sure no one can do a deep clean of the whole house in a weekend.

Well done!

I wonder if I can find something like a pot roast recipe with Mediterranean flavors that I can use for my goat shoulder. That sounds good.

Oh, crap, time to wash more dishes.

How Mediterranean? I had a Provencal beef stew in Paris that had olives in it. And gnocchi, but I feel like regular potatoes would have been at least as good.

I was thinking like that cinnamon-cardamom-cumin sort of flavor profile? Olives do sound good, though.

I wish I could tell you anything else about the stew I had! But otherwise, it was pretty regular stew flavor, with mushrooms and carrots.

Well, I have a "classic pot roast" recipe that calls for mushroom and carrots that I can probably adapt and throw into the crockpot tomorrow. Maybe I'll, like, rub the goat with spices beforehand.

Oh my dear loward packing. PACKING. Fucking packing.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I love anything that is dry rub, frankly. If you have a herbes de provence, then your stew might taste vaguely mediterranean?

Shot given two hours ago. This medicine hurts for a bit after, which is no good.

I have an accreditation visit at school for which I co-wrote the accreditation report. It starts tomorrow. As does the bit of cookie boothing I'm supposed to do.

I cannot tell you how exhausted I am. I just have to make it through Tuesday.
