A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Woke up at 4 am to find our upstairs bathroom had FUBARed and a pipe had come loose, resulting in the kitchen ceiling leaking.

DO. NOT. WANT.

The status is NOT quo.

Oh no! What an awful morning discovery!

Yeah, it was less than joyful.

Plus, we have house worries again. Dan needs to get the ex off the mortgage, but to do so, he would have to either refinance the house (can't; credit is too bad) or sell the house (can't: house has depreciated too much in the last 9 years.)

So our only hope is if his parents can buy the house and we can pay them the mortgage. His mom is coming down next week to go to the bank and see what can be done. So everything is very up in the air and tenuous, and it's very stressful, to put it mildly.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Argh, Strix! Either one of those is bad, both at the same time seems like piling on.

Yeah, it's a PITA. I'm just trying to stay positive. There's no use worrying until we know more next week, and then we'll just take it from there. Thanks be that his folks are awesome and are going to help us, be it buying this house, or letting the bank have it and buying a different house. It could be so much worse, and I'm truly grateful for them.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Argh, Strix, that's awful.

But yay that you have family who are willing to help out.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm sorry Strix, that sounds like a really messy situation.

My neighbors are going through what has suddenly become a REALLY nasty divorce, and I'm trying very hard to stay completely out of it. (And more importantly, to keep D completely out of it - their son is one of his closest friends and I do NOT want their friendship to be affected by a stupid custody battle.) Neither of them has overtly asked me to take sides yet, but they keep blind-copying me (and DH) on emails that neither of us wants to see, and it's becoming incredibly uncomfortable.

Anyway, tomorrow is D's friend's birthday party, and I just hope we can get through it without the kids being exposed to any drama.

Oh, man, Jess, good luck with that.

3 lessons down one to go. This is totally doable, woohoo!

They're BCCing you on private emails pertaining to their divorce? WTF; that is so 9th grade. How inappropriate!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Strength to you Jess. That sounds like a disaster in the making.

Strix, so glad you have family support.

Why is packing so taxing? I've been trying to bite off small bits each day but I only have two weeks before we move and Doing this alone is just...slow.
