Also, I'm catching up on the Daily Show, and John Oliver is so great. Among other reasons, calling out misogyny when talking to Lake Bell and the old white military guys when talking to Kirsten Gillibrand.
I'm ready for Jon Stewart to come back but John Oliver's interviews are quite good.
TimeWarner decided not to record two things today, both racing. It's like a four-year-old that you can't trust actually will brush their teeth even when you walk them to the bathroom and get the toothbrush ready. Turn your back and they are just distracted and unspooling the toilet paper instead. And, really, if I can't get my dvr to actually catch the racing, I have zero reason to keep cable. I am not canceling them before my tv boyfriend subs in for the F1 race in Spa at the end of this month because that's my happy place, but probably the following Monday. I'm over it. I'd rather pay money for each and every show separately.

Off to meet Mom for dinner and then go see comet debris kaboom against our atmosphere.
I am so sorry about the broken ankle, ita, on top of everything else. Also very glad the LA people are mobilizing.
I am enjoying John Oliver a lot too, especially now that he seems to be more comfortable being host and not just a placeholder, if that makes sense.
Random question--when people are catching up on the Daily show and Colbert, do you feel compelled to watch both of them in order, and then move on to the next day's eps, rather than watching them out of order?
I generally prefer to, but will occasionally do a run of one or the other, if I'm watching on DVR instead of Hulu.
Yup, one after the other. As DH used to say, otherwise you end up unbalanced and leaning over to the left or right.
That might not make sense to people who aren't me, but I will put it out there, anyway.
do you feel compelled to watch both of them in order, and then move on to the next day's eps,
I may feel compelled, but often I scroll through and chose a preferred guest.
shrift, I love that cut. And you know what? I don't think I had any idea what you looked like. How funny is that, after all these years.
Floors vacuumed and mopped, dinner et. Also, third shower of the day.
If I don't have time to watch at least one set of both shows back to back, I usually won't start watching, though I will sometimes skip parts of them if the guest doesn't spark my interest.
And you know what? I don't think I had any idea what you looked like. How funny is that, after all these years.
Hah--one of the things I love about this place is that even if *I* haven't met everyone in person, almost everyone here has met SOMEONE I've met in person.
Argh. My sofa is one piece of an Ikea sectional, which is perfect for my tiny apartment, but I'm about to have a way bigger living room, so I thought I could get another piece, and it's discontinued! Sad. Fingers crossed someone is selling one on craigslist.
