Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
That's wild, tommyrot!
My symptoms seem to have subsided today, which is nice for my experience of living through the day, but kind of annoying in that I have my doctor's appointment this afternoon and will have to go in and say "well, I'm fine now, but..." and hope she doesn't just say "come back in if it happens again".
I got to work 35 minutes late. I suppose I shouldn't complain--if it had been a suicide it would have been a two hour delay.
That's actually kind of miraculous.
I kept envisioning the NYC subway, though, and wondering how earth someone was running around up there. But you were on the El, right?
Commuter rail.
The guy is lucky it was a diesel train, and not one that's powered by overhead wires.
I really wish I knew more. Like, was the guy on the train since it left downtown Chicago and was only noticed after I got on, or did he get on the train at the same place I did. (The train stopped a minute after I got on.)
Then there's other questions: Was he ranting like a crazy person? Why didn't he come down until the police arrived? Was he naked?
All things I need to know for it to be a great story....
I agree, these are questions that demand answers.
All things I need to know for it to be a great story....
If you knew more, stealthy killers in ninja suits would crash through your office window and spray the room with automatic fire, forcing you on the run in the company of a mysterious blonde who may or may not be out to kill you.
As things do.
I have refilled prescriptions for me and the husband and made a doctor's appointment. This despite my cold, the three-hour stretch in the middle of the night when I was awake, and the random back strain.
Seriously, how do you hurt your back while sleeping? I'm going to assume it's just a temporary thing and ignore it beyond taking some ibuprofen. And I think my cold is finally abating, after I was truly miserable yesterday. I guess it decided I have suffered enough.
Oops.
Just got a good reminder that when you set up autoforward rules for email, you need to delete them when they are no longer relevant. Fortunately the email that got autoforwarded was nothing the forwardee shouldn't have seen. (And he now is jumping into a project that I wasn't going to put on him, so, good?)
So, there's a pizza/sub kind of place near my office that I've gotten lunch at a couple of times, but apparently their salads are the best, but I never want a salad for lunch in the winter. One time, I had noticed that they have chicken soup as well, and could tell from the description that it was the Greek avgolemono, which is my FAVORITE. I finally remembered to go get some, and YAY! Perfect sick lunch. (Actually, I think I mostly feel bad today because I took medicine. We'll see if this is true tomorrow.)
