Sooner or later, you're gonna want it. And the second — the second — that happens, you know I'll be there. I'll slip in, have myself a real good day.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, that thought certainly crosses my mind with some frequency.

OK, here's my big decision that I need help with for today: do I keep reading Azimov's until I finish the issue and then read Ellery Queen, or swap back and forth between them? It's odd to me that they should come out on the same day, but that appears to be the case.

Oh, wait, I have last month's Azimov's still mostly unread. Decision made.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

And we've determined that I like really good gin in mixed drinks.

I take it as a personal win. Frankly, I don't even offer you sips of drinks just to see the squinchy face any longer. I honestly only offer ones I think you will enjoy. So we've both grown as people, I think.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I forget that Iceland is like a 5 hour plane flight, so it's very possible to post again so rapidly.

Congrats to Colin on a lucrative (and funny) gig that should give him great exposure! (I'll still mourn the absence of Eureka, though.)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Trying to type around Nova, again.

Based on zero evidence, I thought I would feel better today. That didn't happen, but I think I will still be able to load and unload the dishwasher a few times, in between reading magazines and watching Netflix. And I've got stock simmering, won't take much effort to get that finished up. That will probably have to do, productivity-wise.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've half unpacked and am now back on the couch with tea, catching up on my programs.

Another periodic Ellen update: Gabrielle Union was on, and she's engaged to Dwayne Wade, and they were talking about all the sex her character has on her show. She said he gives her a high five and then covers his eyes. Aw! I actually think that's the perfect response.

Because books.

So did you smoke a Gauloise? And how was the CHEESE and the BREAD? These are the important questions.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I avoided Gauloises, and the cheese and bread were both excellent! We had amazing raclette (among other things), which reminded me to do the home version again. I ate many pain au chocolate, and several ham sandwiches, and only two crepes. My only regret! Also that I am not better at regulating my coffee v. wine consumption over a day, so I didn't drink that much of either. (Wine was usually cheaper than soda!)

Things to plan for next time.
