I've half unpacked and am now back on the couch with tea, catching up on my programs.
Another periodic Ellen update: Gabrielle Union was on, and she's engaged to Dwayne Wade, and they were talking about all the sex her character has on her show. She said he gives her a high five and then covers his eyes. Aw! I actually think that's the perfect response.
So did you smoke a Gauloise? And how was the CHEESE and the BREAD? These are the important questions.
I avoided Gauloises, and the cheese and bread were both excellent! We had amazing raclette (among other things), which reminded me to do the home version again. I ate many pain au chocolate, and several ham sandwiches, and only two crepes. My only regret! Also that I am not better at regulating my coffee v. wine consumption over a day, so I didn't drink that much of either. (Wine was usually cheaper than soda!)
Things to plan for next time.
Truth. Also all the museums I skipped.
Nothing like getting up, showered, dressed, and a little makeup only to have your friend say "you look tired". Le sigh.
Wine is cheaper than soda. Oh, land of my heart!
For those of us who worry about our hearts: my brother the doctor says that reseveretrol, which is the chemical in red wine that is good for your heart, is presented most strongly in malbecs and zinfandels. So if you must indulge, get one of those!
Of course, of the wines I bought yesterday (having a high-quality wine-and-cheese shop next to my hair salon is not healthy), one was a nice white and neither of the others were malbecs or zins. Woops.

...or just drink extra rioja to make up the difference, right?
ooh I like both of those kinds of reds a lot usually!
