That's awesome, amych! Did he go to law school in NC? Or he just knows about what's up in politics there?

wow amych! that is fantastic.
amych, that is wonderful! Good for him!

Nope -- he's in school in NY. But he spent his internships/associateships/whatever they call it doing grunt work towards suing the Wake County (Raleigh) school board for rolling back desegregation after his first year, and then researching for appellate briefs on Voter ID laws after his second. NC is sadly notorious these days.
amych's dad is totally an inspiration.
In a similar vein, my ex's dad retired from the Philly Fire Department and then went back to Temple and got both his BA and PhD in poli sci and now he is teaching there.
I think I am more impressed by the internships (or whatever they are called) than the law school. That is so cool.

That's the county my brother and family are in. There is some messed up stuff going on down there. We were talking about this case:
a bit with my sister-in-law when we were down there this weekend.
She's in public history, I think is what it's called. Setting up displays at historical sites that draw the audience in more than boring little plaques that no one reads. She's done this already at Jamestown and an island near St. John I've forgotten the name of. She's hella smart and creative.
That sounds like an excellent field of study, Zen!

Wow!
Amych, that is super awesome!
My hotel hallways are red-lit. I feel....sketchy.
