just stick with the most basic expression of sympathy
Agreed. Also, when I had Jeeves put down, I occasionally made jokes about certain things I wouldn't miss, but I would not have taken it well if other people had made similar jokes. So in short, you can't always take the other person's tone as a guide for your own. Sympathy is safest.
On Friday I discovered that most of my contact list on my phone was gone. I must have done something. . . but I'm not sure what it was.
Luckily I was able to pull most of the very important numbers from my recent phone call list and my messages list.
Then I was skimming some blogs and somebody else with the same phone (iphone 4s) had the same thing happen to her last week.
Huh.
Also, my back is sore. I'm blaming Winter.
Zero fricking motivation. I'm watching the ice dancing finals and don't even have the ummph to really pay attention. Never mind the fact that I'm supposed to be working. Just so NOT in the mood.

Me, too! Stupid Winter!
My flight has been cancelled. I called the hotel I was supposed to check into tonight and moved my reservation to check in tomorrow. I
think
I've been rebooked on a flight tomorrow that connects through DFW, but I'm waiting in a queue for the airline to call me back to confirm. After I do that, I need to move around some meetings.
At least the important meeting I was supposed to go to on early Wednesday morning has been moved to next week, so I don't have to worry about screeching into that on fumes.
if you get stuck in DFW, I am 10 minutes away. Doubt you would, but just in case.
I got a text and an email from the University saying to STAY PUT between 11 and 4 due to the weather.
Nice.
And students are to get in touch with their professors to see if their classes are meeting. (Difficult to go to class and stay put at the same time.)
Thanks, msbelle! If, for some reason, I do get stuck in DFW, I totally will impose upon you.
The winter storm is a pain in the ass, mostly in that the universe keeps making me get on the phone and call people to fix shit. But I'm trying to see it as a net positive. I get to enjoy today as a holiday, I have a little more time to finish off the fruit & veg in the refrigerator, and this hasn't ruined any of my fun plans with friends. I just have to wrangle some meetings and make expense report changes, which isn't the worst thing in the world.
Wow, just found out the musician whose family founded my org is going to be inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
Eiffel tower is awesome! Jesse at the Eiffel tower is awesomer!
Glad you're feeling better today, Anne. I have to ask about the "pile" of modems and routers?
I whacked about eight inches off the ends of my hair a week or two ago. H trimmed up the back for me (that was difficult. He worries. Dude, it's just hair, and I can't cut backwards). It's a chin-length bob, the front just long enough to pull back when I can't stand it. Don't mind hair on my neck, but hair on my face is crazy-making.
I've been reading along, just going through one of those inarticulate periods. So, hi.
