That sounds really useful, -t. I think we have something similar in my area, but it's all pork. And bacon aside, I'm just not that into pork. It sounds like yours has some good variety.

Yeah, I was looking particularly for variety and I found it. They also offer veal and chicken and sometimes duck, and eggs (chicken and duck, I have a standing order for both) and you can add on specific cuts if you particularly want something that month. Last month I added on a whole chicken because I hadn't roasted a chicken in a while. Pretty delicious. You can also opt out of one type of meat if you just can't bring yourself to eat lamb, or whatever, and still do the box.
I wonder if I could find a CSA for local meat that I could skip on the beef/veal? I actually probably don't eat enough meat/protein. And it would be fresh and local and stuff.
Timelies all!
Flying up to Boston this afternoon for Boskone. Wish us luck.
Travel~ma, Sheryl, and all other traveling buffistas!
Might be worth looking into, Theo. At the very least, I bet you could find a poultry-only share. And you're a little more urban than me, which, oddly enough, should expand your choices. I drive past cows every day on my way to work, but I have to go to the next (more densely populated) county to get my locally sourced meat; I find that weird.
I should look for a meat CSA here. Although I think the plan is to get a half a pig to share with friends. We got a chest freezer just for that purpose but haven't managed to get the meat to fill it yet.
Last night's slush turned to icy awfulness over night. I'm waiting for the sun and higher temps to do some work before I attempt shoveling again. And working at home and getting ready for my trip to NC. Plus feeling kind of awful. Stupid cold.
I think I'll try to see if I can get the hotel where Bob is staying to send him up a nice glass of Irish whiskey from their bar tonight for Valentine's Day. We don't usually do anything to fancy for it but being apart still kind of sucks.
Ai yai yai -- I was just out for almost an hour chipping away at ice, when a guy came by with strength and a good metal shovel and finished it up in five minutes. I hope he's one of the people working on my parents' bathroom, because otherwise, I just said thanks and walked away, and that seems kind of rude!
Two things done off my to-do list, six to go.
That's a good idea, lisah. Poor Bob, and you!
Almost France, Jesse! Whoo!
In CSA news, I would like a fresh seafood one, please. Also affordable. Someone hook me up with that.
Apparently there's a water main break on my street. Fortunately, I'm not there! Unfortunately, I will be tonight. Wonder what I'll come home to?
saying Thank you is never rude. A kiss would have been nice though, you know it is V-day.
