It's my estimation that... every man ever got a statue made of him, was one kind of sumbitch or another.

I think today is going to be a nap day. Work this week has been good, but I'm just extra exhausted and I realized that yesterday I walked a lot more than I have in the last week. Hopefully I can juggle my work after my current conference call to take a 2 hour break.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Man, I wish I could take a nap day today.

We've been short-staffed all week because the Lower School Librarian -- the one who has multiple classes of small children in the library every day -- is home sick with something nasty, so my director and I have been covering her classes, and I've had a bunch of my own too, so I've been in early every day and running all over the school. Now the computer in the story room (where we hold Lower School classes) isn't working, and I just found out we're scheduled to have a fire drill today, right in the middle of my Kindergarten class. Surely that will go super smoothly, right?

Art Crawl!!!

Newborn puppies.

We are a little short-staffed here due to a rash of illness.

There's a lot of slush UNDER over a foot of snow. It's heavy. And it will refreeze tonight. And there's 2-4" more coming. And we've got to do the street at some point.

I don't know that my car is going anywhere before sunday at this point. But it is cleared off and I've got a whole parking space ahead of me!

My shoulders are complaining already.

Art Crawl!!!

Horses playing in the snow at Sagamore Farm in Glyndon, Maryland. (I visited there in the 70s and got to see whichever son of Native Dancer was at stud there at the time. Cannot recall his name, but he was a pretty gray.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I hope this doesn't all refreeze before I get home from work...

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

There is a ton of snow coming down here now. I love it! My love is supported by the fact that I don't have to go anywhere today. Probably not tomorrow, either.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Now it's slush-snowing sideways, which is maybe a step up from the rain an hour ago?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Three young lads came by and asked if they could shovel my driveway for a couple bucks. I said I didn't have any cash, and they said they'd do it anyway. Baffling, and yet there they are, shoveling my driveway. I've scrounged up $18 in quarters I'm gonna give them.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Can you send them to my house to dig out my car? I don't know how I'm going to get the dog home this weekend. She may be stuck in Milwaukee until spring.
