I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

There is a ton of snow coming down here now. I love it! My love is supported by the fact that I don't have to go anywhere today. Probably not tomorrow, either.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Now it's slush-snowing sideways, which is maybe a step up from the rain an hour ago?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Three young lads came by and asked if they could shovel my driveway for a couple bucks. I said I didn't have any cash, and they said they'd do it anyway. Baffling, and yet there they are, shoveling my driveway. I've scrounged up $18 in quarters I'm gonna give them.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Can you send them to my house to dig out my car? I don't know how I'm going to get the dog home this weekend. She may be stuck in Milwaukee until spring.

On one hand, I basically got a workout equivalent in exertion to my swim. On the other,I could really use a swim because now my shoulders and arms hurt. But Y is closed. Bah.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Text I never thought I'd send "You left your cadaver permission slip on the kitchen counter".

Then add that I accidentally sent it to CJ's Chief. Oooooops. His response? "I hate it when I do that".

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

And immediately after the lads left, it started snowing again.

brillig

Hubby's got a deal with the kids across the street for sidewalk/driveway clearing. They're very bummed at hte lack of moneymaking opportunities this winter.

My landlord's been good about shoveling snow the few times we've had it. That said, nature will take care of things by midday Saturday if he can't.

Punishingly Intricate

I shoveled the parking pad and brushed the foot high snow off my car. When I was out there my neighbor came out and started shoveling her steps and then was talking about shoveling her car out so I offered to do it for her. I had done her front walk along with mine this morning and our other neighbor did her front walk and steps. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer the same week Bob got his cancer diagnosis in 2010 a couple of days before that year's double blizzards. She's hung in there, and is working still, but her son told me that her kidneys have stopped functioning recently. I wasn't going to let her shovel her car out! We talked about that week in 2010 and how weird it was. She was marveling at how good she felt that week compared to how she feels now. I was like "but you're still hanging in there, shoveling snow." That's something.
